Edd, questions: 1. Which reasonably priced options, non carbon plate, is the best training and racing option for all distances? 2. Which carbon plated shoe is the best for heal strikers?
Ответитьsounds like the invincible with a little less bass 😄
ОтветитьWow - a nice shoe that I may have to take a look at since my days of invincible run 2. Where do these fit in between owning the SB2 and Nimbus 26 - can they fit into the rotation? Still racing in the ASICS Metaspeed sky and just did a mile and 5k pb in them, but as you mentioned, they show some wear and need to "baby" them. Wish I was 18 again 😂!
ОтветитьI did not like the first Pegasus turbo at all, they sapped all the energy out of me, they were way too squishy for me… the same ride as the SL2’s.
ОтветитьLooks amazing! But in a shoe rotation with invincible for the long easy, vomero 17 for the shorter and a speed shoe for intervals day where does this one fit in? Doesn’t seem a full on speed shoe for the tempo days? Some of the conclusion even sounds like I could swap out the invincible ? Weren’t as big a fan of the 3 as of the invincible 2
ОтветитьKeep up the good job Ed. Great review as always
ОтветитьSometimes you need the strobel board for structural integrity. Maybe the durometer is lower than the turbo or Nike learned from the turbo that people were bottoming out ( obviously not the Buddster, His Buddness, or uh, Budder, or El Budderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing)
ОтветитьThis might be weird to say, but I like the sound of these shoes on the ground :)
ОтветитьHere for the musical interlude this time haha, fantastic band and album. The whole family loves the war on drugs.
ОтветитьVery encouraging review! Edd, thank you!
Ответитьas a diehard swoosh fan , i had to turn to other brands (on, nb, adidas & brooks) to get that old feeling back. it’s great to hear that Nike is steering the ship back on the right path 👏🏿👏🏿. i’ll be sure to grab a pair. being that’s it’s nike, i may have to grab a few pairs if it’s a good shoe. nike just has a habit of giving ppl what they want, then screwing up the next iteration of a good shoe.
ОтветитьI bought this shoe and i have run a session in it once. I’m happy with it, but it’s not a general purpose do it all running shoe. It’s annoying that the outsole does not fully cover the midsole.
It’s light and good on intervals, but still not as bouncy or as versatile as the invincible 2.
Apart from the outsole issue, the shoe clearly is a peg turbo. It has ‘Pegasus turbo’ embossed in to the outsole and the inside of the tongue says ‘2018’ ‘2024’. Fit and the insole (i compared them) is almost identical to the turbo 2 (tho. IMO the turbo 1 was better).
I will be using this shoe for interval sessions, not for long runs as the vomero 17 is better for that.
Good stuff as usual Edd and it cheers the heart of a lifelong Nike fanboy to see them make their first decent non-plated trainer for about 3 years. However with an SL2 at £110 I will not be buying this bowling shoe. I hear there’s been some management changes in Nike’s running division so hopefully a sign of things to come.
ОтветитьThese are $180 here in the U.S. I suppose my question is “are they $180 good?” When compared to other shoes in that price range, like the Endorphin Speed, Deviate Nitro 2 or 3, Adidas Boston 12, or even at $180 here, the New Balance SC Trainer V3? I mean, it’s $20 away from the Superblast 2. I just don’t see the value, especially with the Adidas SL2 at $130 retail.
ОтветитьWhere the zegama2 and ultrafly reviews.....😬
ОтветитьAs usual banger of a review Ed. I was looking for a daily shoe and really didnt want to go back Puma or Asics or Saucony for their daily runner offerings, i like to try different brands. Its refreshing to finally have a Nike shoe makes me want to get it after the OG Peg Turbos 😂. This is definitely in my list now.
ОтветитьId still go for the 35 turbo. Is super lightweight. that shoes wouldve pass the supershoes category back in 2018. Just saying
Ответитьturbo 2 was absolutely my favorite nike daily trainer, owned 2 pairs. is this better than the 2 ?
ОтветитьTHE WAR ON DRUGS BABY 🫶
ОтветитьJust pulled the trigger on one after staring at it for a while, thanks Edd
ОтветитьI think you're spot on my friend! I couldn't agree more on your breakdown. I picked up a pair and have done a few runs already. I was in the Invincible 3 previously but it was too heavy for me to pick up my pace. Not only does this shoe provide similar cushion/comfort, but it's much more stable than the Invincible 3. Already having a lot of fun in this ride as it's very responsive and light. Last note: I ordered and fit perfectly in my true size as well.
ОтветитьI think it is a new "scam" just like the Turbo next , totally different and bad shoe. Nothing to compare with the turbo 1 and 2
ОтветитьIs this shoe a contender for doing everything if I don't care for those "race"only shoes? I used the NB Rebel for the one shoe for everything.
ОтветитьThanks for the review, much better than I expected.
ОтветитьHey Edd, great review.. i went in to try these on but then also visited an Asics store and tried Noosa Tri 16, and i liked the Noosa Tri better than Peg Plus! They are different but Noosa Tri felt more exciting!
Please review Asics Noosa Tri 16 thanks!
Hi. At 🇪🇸 Spain=€180. No for me. I prefer the Pegasus 41. What do you think about the new Asics glideride Max, please???. Like to EDDBUD. Have a great day.
ОтветитьAre they soft or hard?
ОтветитьThese are the same price as the endorphin speed 4 here in Sweden and more expensive than the deviate nitro 3.
ОтветитьEdd ‘Winged Horse’ Bud 😂👍
ОтветитьThanks for the review! How fast do these feel in comparison to the Endorphin Speed 4/Boston 12 or comparable plates trainer?
ОтветитьTwo questions Ed “running shoe guru” Budd. What do you class as a heavier runner? Looks great but I’m a chonk. Secondly while running on some unkept Greek roads last week an errant rock has taken a gouge out the side wall of my beloved Boston 12s, any product you would throw your reputation behind to repair/ secure from more degradation? Cheers
ОтветитьNike vaoourly 3 vs adidas pro evo 1 dono me best running shoes
ОтветитьNike, on Cloud or adidas for running?
ОтветитьEd. I need a new daily/training run shoe. Would you recommend this or the SL2 higher? Theres a price difference but i've always been a pegasus fan.
ОтветитьFinally I got to try how ZoomX feels without a plate. I loved how it felt during fitting and my first run (10km tempo run) in it was absolutely fun. I was concerned when I felt the ground but the ZoomX still provided sublime cushioning. The upper was also great. Very comfortable. Finally I have a non- carbon plated Nike shoe that can handle my faster training runs. Great shoe.
ОтветитьWhy is there midsole foam out the back, when I'll never use it? I have to carry that weight around for no purpose.
ОтветитьI’m a size US10.5 in the Vomero 17s and a size US11 in the Nike Invincible 3’s..
What size would I be in these Pegasus Plus??
Edd, I'm after a shoe for fast club runs, would these be suitable? I'm coming from a pair of Deviate Nitro 2's and am considering these or the Rebel V4. Didn't like the Boston 12 or the Speed 3/4 at all.
ОтветитьI tried these recently in store and found them more comfort than peg 41 put them on my next shoe list
ОтветитьFirst.....awesome t-shirt!
Literally just ordered these, been running on the Pegasus trial 4's so I'll be interested in feeling/seeing the difference with a road shoe
Would you prefer these or the superblast for shorter z2 runs?
ОтветитьI think nike finally answered our prayers!!
ОтветитьThey need to make this the regular pegasus and drop the price to remain competitive. There are just too many better, more affordable options.
ОтветитьIf this is the same as the Pegasus turbo I’m sold
ОтветитьPegasus plus or Saucony endorphin speed 4?
Ответитьi would like to see a long term to the durability
Ответить
