You're right Meg, hes just a lazy, miserable talking head who looks like it took a huge effort to get off his backside and get up just to say something. What does he physically do for invictus? Nothing? Absolutely nothing. Can you imagine how much better it would be with someone like Mike Tindall involved. Just his energy, passion, and media connections it would spur the invictus games on immensely. Also, Mike would have a great rapport and appreciation of the sporting achievements of the veterans. He wouldn't demand private jets, 5 star accommidation, designer clothes, or insisting to be called Sir. Mike would bring so much fun and excitment to the games, the veterans, and the audience. He would be so involved and hands-on. Why invictus insists on staying with the miserable, lazy, drug infused, money wasting, ex royal is beyond me.

There is one thing I would call her. A BIG BULLY.

In America, if a person was working as a concierge, security officer, police officer, military soldier, etc., the person could use the term sir or mam (short for madam) to be polite when addressing an adult man or woman. Madam is used with political titles, such as Madam Vice President Harris. Mam is pronounced differently in America or maybe it's the accent that makes it sound differently. I know if one was a young woman and called mam or madam instead of miss, it would be insulting, insinuating that the woman looked older rather than being a youthful looking woman. I wouldn't address the wife as anything since in America royal titles are not acknowledged. She would be Meghan or Mrs. Spare.

I am from the United States and from the south and yes we called ma’am and sir to our elders to be polite and respectful. Megan in my opinion is neither of those.

I grew up in Texas and still live here. It is the practice here to call women older than you "ma'am." Same with men and "sir." I would make it a point to NOT call either of those two losers by those terms of respect.

I live in TN, USA, and ma'am is used here quite often. A sign of respect for the age, the job, etc. Young and old will be called ma'am at some point in there life. Take care and be safe Ms. Murky.

I'm Canadian and I've been "ma'am'd", as it were. We don't pronounce it like "mom", though. I was first ma'am'd as a teenager running a bookshop (it was my shift, so I would be the person in authority there at that time). So, yes, it is used here. Maybe not super commonly but only because we are a fairly informal society nowadays. In decades past calling a woman, especially one older than you, "ma'am" wouldn't have been out of the ordinary at all. We are a part of the Commonwealth, but the royals are not a part of our everyday lives outside of being on our money, unless they visit, which is infrequent. I can't speak for Americans but I do believe in the southeast "ma'am" is pretty common.

That being said, I do think Megan was trying to big herself up by asking to be called that, though. We all know what she's like.
