nickelodeon also tried to jump onto the fastplay bandwagon, but never actually used it in any of their tapes

I remember HiT Entertainment Autoplay and the Lionsgate logo when I was little on my Thomas and Friends, Barney & Friends and Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps DVDs it's a little teeny bit like Disney's Fast Play.

This is so weird the fact the autoplay which is meant to skip over any previews of other products waits till all of it to then use the autoskip like what was the point

In all seriousness, whenever I watched my season 11 or 12 Thomas and friends DVDs, I had to scramble to find my DVD remote to go to the main menu to see the special features before watching it

I remember hearing that and scrambling to find my remote before it ends and forces me to go to the main menu

And I thought Disney's Fast Play was pointless, I'm glad HiT didn't use this on their UK DVDs, of which I had the ones for Fraggle Rock, Pingu, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam, you should honestly try doing the BBC Children's DVD bumpers

Interesting, never knew about this good that czech DVD's (from what I know) don't have this feature because they were released here by foreign distributors (mostly Bonton)

Probably my least favorite DVD distributers (i think thats the best way to call it) is HiT and NCircle. ESPECIALLY NCIRCLE. They got rid of the live action segments from the super mario bros super show

I forgot to mention this on the Fast Play video, but I actually compared the length of the Fast Play bumper menu to the infamous Sonic Drowning theme… and the time span of ones are almost perfect enough that one could add the fast play feature sound to their Sonic modifying (or vise versa)!

Mattel AutoPlay would be alot worse.

Hit Entertainment has continuous random play in the UK on some old Hit Children’s Favourites DVDs.
UK DVDs also played sneak peaks at the end.
Also there was the Hit Parade - a bunch of adverts that you don’t have to watch.
I’d love to see a video about all that. I can give you more information if needed like what DVDs to get.

In the early version used from 2007 to mid 2008 you know where the curser is on the main menu and they don’t mention bonus features it worked like fast play if you hit auto play it would play 2 or 3 trailers and go to the features if you hit main menu it would go to the main menu if you wanna see go online check the openings to one of these DVDs here are the following DVDs that are like that

This video just resurfaced an old childhood memory of mine that I completely forgot about until now

You should do a video on Lionsgate's autoplay feature. It's basically an image of some of the characters from the show the dvd has, with a narrator saying that for fun special features, press the menu button on their remote control, and then the show starts. The has appeared on some Clifford, Care Bears, Doodlebops, and Koala Brothers DVDs from the mid 2000s. Some of them have different variants. One Care Bears dvd has an animated selection screen similar to Disney Fastplay, the doodlebops dvd has a filmed bumper, and the koala brother’s DVDs have music. The ones with no music like the Clifford DVDs are nightmare fuel because of how eerie they are.

Good vid btw but for some reason my candidan dvds from hit entertainment and Disney that have the fast/auto play have the ads only on FAST/AUTOPLAY MODE. If you just click “main menu” it just kicks me onto the main menu on the dvd, so far I’ve tested my frozen, Bob the builder: building Bob land bay, and Phineas and fern Star Wars dvd

I actually never found the Auto Play feature annoying. It's actually nostalgic to me because I grew up watching many Thomas and Friends DVDs, and I still have them today.

The main issue is that the HiT Auto Play screen appears AFTER the trailers which defeats the purpose because the whole point of the Fast Play features is that it allows you to skip everything and go straight to the menu or the movie. HiT Auto Play is pointless because of the placement on the trailers.

Hit AutoPlay is more like Hit ManualPlay because you have to sit through warning screens, logos, and previews before the AutoPlay screen appears.

You know if HiT Entertainment never created this autoplay, it wouldn't even exist and I honestly don't even know why they consider it as "autoplay" when it's basically a shitty version of Disney's Autoplay but 10x times WORSE!


But overall this was a good video, and I like how you used so many goddamn AVGN clips in this video which it makes the video pretty funny!

I never realized HiT distributed for Aardman untill I watched this video.

If there's something that really gives me a flight or fight response, it'd be the bumpers that play on countless Disney VHS Tapes from late 1996 to Early 2000. Unlike the Disney Fast Play logo, these bumpers play more than once. In fact, there are 4 that frighten me to this day. First there's the intro that announces that you'll find more excitement with Disney and announces a movie or two coming to theaters. Next, there's one announcing movies coming to videocassette. Then there’s one either promoting Disney Interactive Games or ABC promos. Finally, the feature presentation logo from 1992 has a new narration by Beau Weaver. His narration in particular sounds more aggressive. Most tapes have the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection logo that play afterwards, which only adds to the horror. The THX logo, on the other hand, does the exact opposite for me. In fact, it's probably my favorite logo with the most soothing sound ever. It doesn't give me the flight or fight response like the bumpers that play earlier.

Having owned some of the Shaun the Sheep DVDs from HiT for many years, this feature has generally confused me due to how it was generally structured.

Somehow, FastPlay returned.

Fun Fact: On the 2007 Thomas US DVD 'Milkshake Muddle', The autoplay screen plays before the trailers.
