The second you started having forward assist issues, you should've stopped the test.

Having to jam it into battery every reload like that increases the likely hood of an out of battery cook-off...

This is why I run criterion barrels in my aero builds 👍🏻

Watching that round exit the side of the barrel and then smack the table near the hammer with enough force to cause the table to splinter off was frightening. The one camera angle caught it but I don't think anyone else noticed at all. Please be safe brother, these tests are important but not THAT important.

Any idea how long a AR barrel will last in just normal use like semi-auto? I think Ben Stoeger said one of his Aero rifles went about 15,000 rounds before it started key holing.

Just curious I've never actually shot a AR so much that the barrel started key holing and honestly I just want to know if it's worth spending extra money for a cold hammer forged barrel that costs $500. Not all cold hammer forged barrels are that expensive but I've seen a few.

The KAC system is tighter thus sending more gasses through the barrel. I believe that caused more heat and faster failure.
