Oh man these folks are crazy heavy...
ОтветитьSUPERB JOB fushpie!! Up until today I had only ever known this tune (for more than 3 decades) from the excellent Casino Lights live album and was a YJ's devotee from album #1. Never knew there was a video of this actual performance. I agree, Ford's guitar playing is totally mesmerising. This audience just had no idea they were witnessing the genesis of a lasting bunch of superior musicians.
ОтветитьBass – Jimmy Haslip
Drums – Ricky Lawson
Guitar – Robben Ford
Keyboards – Russell Ferrante
Percussion – Lenny Castro
Thanks for your support, the movement like it a lot in france.
Viva la revolucion
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys twice at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach Ca. They loved playing this tune ,,,,Robben insisted. The original line-up of The Yellowjackets
ОтветитьWhat a line -up . Robben Ford guitar. The late Ricky Lawson drums , Russell Ferrante
Keyboards , and Jimmy Haslip bass
I been paying attention for a long time and I'll be amazed if I ever run across any guitar work as great as this in my lifetime. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 100.
Ответитьwhen i was young, i always skipped this song because of his "love boat" rythm (to me, in 1983, no offense ;) ). at least 20 years after, i let this song go to its end, and then i considerered myself as a wanker... so much wasted time in forgetting this masterpiece !
ОтветитьRobben's solo face is very similar to Angus Young's. :D
ОтветитьCasino Lights, that introduced me to all of this......was soooooooio good, well mixed and tasty.
Klemmer’s performance was perfect, too!
Wow ... What a brilliant job you did on this video, well done, brought back some great memories of this time when over here in Oz we couldn't get enough of these wonderful players ...
ОтветитьThe drummer is awesome!
ОтветитьWhen Robben is in the zone his licks are tasty as hell, what a player..loved his Yellow jackets stuff
ОтветитьThe joy of music !
ОтветитьI love it.
ОтветитьExcellent musicianship rest in peace Mr Ricky Lawson. 🙏
Ответитьas great as robben solo is ...what gets overlooked is the shuffle pocket by ricky n jimmy on robben's solo
ОтветитьDoes anybody knows what amp was he using at this time era? Not dumble I believe.
ОтветитьI often wonder what others in the band thought while RFord was ripping through this, one of the greatest solos of all time!
ОтветитьWow! Thanks for a pleasure! 👏👏👏
ОтветитьGuitar solo from heaven! Truly the best guitar solo ever!
ОтветитьOHHHH, Strikes twice. 🤩🤩
ОтветитьAwesome Memories. Listened to this tune in the 80s. Goosebumps.
ОтветитьBrilliant guitar solo. The best I've heard live!
ОтветитьOne of the best guitar solo ever
Ответитьmy favorite lineup of The Jackets
ОтветитьRobben Ford...... dang..
ОтветитьAgreed on the solo. How he can just keep playing blues over all those changes is astounding to me.
ОтветитьDrew was here ~
ОтветитьDrew was here.
ОтветитьOne of the greatest guitar solos ever.
ОтветитьBest guitar solo ever...period!
ОтветитьWhy is this song not on streaming services?
ОтветитьNote for note, this solo is every bit as good as Larry Carlton's solo on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne". Outstanding.
ОтветитьOne of the best guitar solos ever.
ОтветитьI love the concentrated look of joy on the drummer's face with those horns in background. Such a good vibe.
ОтветитьHow old was Robben Ford here? Great solo!
ОтветитьMr. 335!
ОтветитьMan to have been in the room with this crew! Robben's blazing solo Russell's amazing horn hits and Ricky and Jimmy's relentless drive make this one beyond special!
ОтветитьRoben ford
ОтветитьRobben! Wow!!!
ОтветитьThe perfect guitar story...
ОтветитьThis is so fantastic.❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьIt's almost impossible to find words to describe Robben's solo. It's as if his guitar cord were plugged right into his soul! 🎸
ОтветитьI learned this solo when I was 16 and it changed my playing and broke the fretboard open for me. He plays great melodies and licks but his phrasing and feel are just sublime. Robben is a beast!
ОтветитьI love this song and performance and was very honored to have arranged the horn section we overdubbed at Capitol well have the live performance of this at Montreux in 1981. Tommy Lipuma brought me in for several artists on that project, The Jackets, Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford, Larry Carlton and David Sanborn I remember arranging horns for.
Robben is killing it here as is the whole band. Thoughts and prayers for drummer and great guy Ricky Lawson who is fighting for his life.
