DIY SOFA MADE OUT OF BAMBOO PLYWOOD + FREE PLANS

Well this looks fun. I do need something more fluffy for couch cushions, but this works well for my teenager. Good project and thanks for sharing.

How well would these cushions stand up outside, like for your exterior couch design?

How much are you paying for each sheet of bamboo plywood? I'm seeing over $200 / 3/4" panel, does that sounds right? The edges are very interesting. Much more of a high end look than normal plywood. It's beautiful wood, but woof, that price. All in with the cushions you are about $700 on materials, right?

cushions are the difficult part, indeed. Me and my wife made our own sofa. My design, my woodworking. she made the cushions. It cost about $250 for decent quality material (stuffing, batting, fabric, ect).wood was probably $150. redesigned/fixed things 3 times to get right. Took probably a combined 40hrs of work. Not an easy task to make something that's comfortable, good quality, and good looking.

Wouldn't the cushions just slide off the sofa as you lean back? I guess you could put in some front strips to stop this from happening, or something the connects to the bottom of the cushion without sacrificing comfort.

Love the sofa, did you have any problems cutting the bamboo ply? Did the edges fray and how did they look? What type of saw blade did you use? Sorry for all the questions, at over $275 a sheet I want to make sure the cut edges are clean without chips, etc.

How much did it cost to build the wooden frame as far as material goes?
