TAIWAN NATURE EDUCATION Introduction to Eluanbi (Taiwan)

Eluanbi is famous for its beautiful and historically important lighthouse, attracting tens of thousands of tourists a year. Eluanbi is less famous for the large protected (and ecologically important!) coastal forest that fills the land around the lighthouse. Coastal forests in southern Taiwan are vanishing, cut and lost through time, and these remnant pieces offer us a glimpse in to an ecological past. If you visit Eluanbi, be sure to walk along the paths and explore the plants, rocks, and coastal expanses that make this area so ecologically important.
