This made me realize how YA is basically just fantasizing about what life'd be like with endless money somehow, without accountability (parents and/or friends), with eternal love (vampires, gods, and fae), and with endless likeability for being the Chosen one. 😅

Actually I feel like most ya fantasy I have read has dads instead of moms. I think this is because there’s a stereotype that dads are more detached and aloof with their parenting hence why their daughters can go off into magical realms without their realizing. I forgot where I read somewhere about how ya fantasy girls will never be able to do half of what they do if they had present mothers 😂
