Ah man, I remember when Michael Schuhmacher had his accident. I'm not into Formula 1 but it was all over the news in Germany. It was like the Queen had died. Poor guy, really didn't deserve this.

And I thought Ayrton Senna's accident was freaky...

A very sad event indeed. Although I call BS on the "Fastest, most technologically advanced cars in racing. " Indy cars are faster and more tech advances as they don't have all the stupid rules that Formula 1 has. They race, they don't have predetermined winners based on Team standing.

The south African incident made me queasy when I saw it for the first time. It was just the most unsettling and disturbing thing I had seen up to that point.

The most haunting part is seeing Pryce’s car continue down the main straightaway knowing he was already deceased. Thank you for covering this incident

I raced in my Pontiac firebird 😊... beautiful car, real road hugger , at 120 and the rush was incredible, but slowing down is touchy...
I was lucky..can't imagine going 170 for a long time....

Before Tom Price took the wheel for UOP shadow, in 1974 another driver Pete Revson was killed at the same track on the same team from a broken spindle while testing for the race! That would have been really cool to have added that into your video because it seemed like fate and bad luck! That also was a very horrific crash!

I had emigrated from England to South Africa in March 1975 and was watching the race on SABC television at my home in Randburg, a few miles from Kyalami. I remember this horrible accident - who could forget? - and we saw on TV Van Vuuren hit by Pryce's car, and flying through the air like a rag-doll! We did not see any footage of the fire of the other car or what happened to Pryce's car after the collision with Van Vuuren!
