We do travel with Winter and Frosty. As a matter of fact we are going to WVA. My girls have traveled before and do really good. Your points are used on any of our trips.

I didn't know Kavee had a travel carrier. It looks almost identical to the one I have (advertised as a cat carrier) but the kavee interior with the bottle holder + hay pouch is very appealing. I might have to swap carriers this summer...

I use hard side carriers because I don’t like washing the mesh ones and the plastic ones can just go in the bathtub. I will put a pillowcase with some care fresh underneath the pad in the bottom so if the piggy decides to go under the pad, they are not riding on plastic..

Great video Scotty, I travel alot with my boys and you gave me some more good ideas. We have a cabin that's about 2 hours away and they do have their own setup there. Always looking for more ways to keep them comphy while traveling 😊

These are great ideas! But what if you get into an accident? Having them non contained will make them projectile piggies lol. I always use a hard sided carrier and I seat belt the carrier in to make sure it's not going anywhere.

The only time we really traveled with our piggies other than like to the vet was about a 6 hour drive and a week stay at a pet friendly hotel in St. Louis. We had a senior boar and his less than a year old bonded friend, and we actually constructed a C&C cage in the hotel room once we got there since there wasn’t a room for it and five of us in the van we were in. They traveled inside a open topped long storage bin with fleece in there, hay in there, water, and veggies every so often the whole way there. They acted like it was completely normal for them. And they were practically in my lap because of the close quarters so no issues not noticing them in some kind of distress. 10 out of 10 would vacation with Piggies again if my health allowed it.

Is bringing a cage safe?? I assumed the guinea pigs could hurt themselves if you had to make a harsh stop or turn

I had a piggy (Paully) who traveled so well on the plane (I was so afraid to bring her initially but she was a pro! She was in a kennel built for a cat and got to sit in the cabin with me). It was hilarious when she had to go through TSA checkpoint. I made sure she had water, hay, pellets, and veggies when I took her from Cape Coral to Knoxville a few times (4). She did NOT like the car. None of my pigs actually liked the car at all, small trip or long...Nutty pigs would just go so crazy! You're such a pro with your trips to and from rescues, stores, etc. OMG I love that piggy laden fleece blanket! The carrier was so cute!

We are going to be moving with guinea pigs, It will be from one state to another, so it will probably be 2 days to get there, we are bringing them and planning on bringing a frozen water, water bottle, fleece, and a couple extra fleece pieces, 1 tunnel hidey, some hay, food, and their favorite toy. Because we are going with multiple people we will need the chairs so we can't just bring their cage. We'll put everything else that's there's probably in a suitcase (the cage, fleece, hides, chew, ect..) Is that okay?

I am moving from FL to NY - how do I travel with my piggie for such a long trip with an overnight stop? I don't want to have to rehome him, but if this trip will endanger his health/life, I would leave him with someone else first , as hard as that would be for me...and I'll be travelling in a small dodge neon car to boot... :(

I find the water bottles drips a lot from the bumping and moving along the road, since it causes the little ball to be jostled. Do you know of a bottle that doesn’t leak with this movement?

I have had a guinea pig for a month and take her out in a carrier on my mobility scooter for a view of the world about 3 times a week She is not shy and happily wheeks and when we come back she popcorns around the room really happily and we share a salad together ❤

I have a CDL but I’m afraid to get an “over the road” trucking job (I would never be home) because I would have to always have them in the truck with me. I feel like that may not be the best life for them. Like, isn’t it unsafe for them to try and drink water from their bottle while in a moving car? I would love to hear your thoughts.
