If we lose against the pens in game 1 of the season in a HOME OPENER against a team that just lost 6-0 last night will be big levels of sadness

If we lose I won’t be disappointed it’s gonna take a bit to get our momentum and rhythm going always does

Tonight begins my 65th season as a DRW fan, thanks to Gordie Howe. The most gentlemanly, humble and kind person to ever lace 'em up, but a terror in the corners. Glad to see he is immortalized in that international bridge.

I don't sense any real confidence with this group. That starts with coaching.

JT Compher went 2/14 on faceoffs tonight. Patrick Kane bc of him spent the entire game not getting to play offense at even strength, instead having to chase and defend on a bum hip. Call up Kasper, put Raymond 2nd line w Kasper as center, put Kane in his rightful spot between Cat and Larkin.

Damn good thing we are still playing husso… he is so good!!

I wasn't expecting a miracle, but hot dang... This team and structure is a shit show, lol. Can't play lockdown defense (NHL level) to increase GA, with the roster here, lol. My advice to management and coaching staff: Not to be a debbie downer, but if the team isn't going to improve using a more defensive model, go balls out on offense like last year - you're still letting your goalie's out to dry with either style of play, LOL.

I need receipts so here are my hot takes:

1)Raymond will be a perennial 50-60 pt player who won't justify his term/contract. People will have more animosity towards him as the season goes on and will mess with his head and confidence moving forward.
2)Alex Lyon will end up as a starter this year (The emphasis on cooking a prospect and not getting a real, ready #1, when the market allowed for it this year should've been priority #1 - NOT A TROUBA (chiarot replacement) ATTEMPT).
3) We will see the blashill blender more than we care to admit.
4) Marco gets a call-up and stays.
5) Berggren won't take the next step and establish himself as an NHL regular.
6) Our lack of capable NHL regular players on the Left Side will ironically screw us over for paying to get rid of Walman. We are one injury away from that, and I feel like the whole issue will surface.
