Harry complaining about players pulling out when he’s the only player in the squad who gets to have a winter break.

Also, you can’t blame city players from pulling out when they only have 13 players fit. Walker is 3 caps away from getting to 100, so not surprised he is going. Trent, Saka and rice are out injured. Grealish trained for 20 minutes, so what’s the point taking him? Ramsdale won’t play as everyone prefers Pickford (rightly so). That really only leaves Colwil and Foden who are fully fit but probably tired as they played in all matches for their respective clubs.

International football is a boring anachronism.
The whole thing should be scrapped, The World Cup, The Euros, Copa América, African Nations, the lot.
International football should be kept at the olympics for the under 21's.. Too much football is causing more and more injuries in meaningless matches.

All this is leading towards a grumble about fixtures. Too many games. So you will here in the future about cutting the premiership in half which in turn will lead to a super league because of the money the big clubs will gain/lose and the super league will be forced upon us as a financial necessity. It’s called overloading until it breaks

The keyword is rotation. Also, did those who dropped out harm yesterday's game? The "USUAL" call-ups didn't manage to beat Italy or Spain in the respective EURO finals or beat France in the World Cup 2022 quarter-finals in Qatar. Kane should stop whinging. He's had his time, and if he can't score crucial penalties in a World Cup quarter-final, what's the point of taking him to the next World Cup. Let those upcoming English talents integrate into a successful team. Let the new talents help England progress to a side that doesn't only qualify for the EURO or World Cup but actually wins it. Maybe some of the England senior players can take a leaf out of the playbook of Müller, Kroos, Neuer, etc., who have stepped down from the German national team.

At least of the 'dropouts' actually were injured so makes sense to not to turn up if you'd be a bit of a liability. Foden and Colwill the only ones seemingly fit to play but declined. Id be focusing on them rather generalising on them all.

The players and the clubs on behalf of their supporters who pay a LOT OF MONEY to watch the games have to take matters into their own hands. The fat money hungry boards and associations see only one thing, more games more money to hell with the clubs, players and supporters. On a footnote scrap VAR or suspend, modify it until they can have a WAY better system. VAR as it now stands SUCKS.

Get use to players pulling out. Most are starting to fall a part health wise, They haven't had a break i over 3 years. If I were one of these players, I would seriously consider ditching international football altogether.
For the length of my career would be most important. I would start taking better care of myself and get propper time off to recover.
Everyone seems to forget that when Southgate took over, the players were playing 10 or more gameless a season . That's a minimum 900 minutes less wear and tear on the body back then. England doesn't pay their wages the clubs do, so if a player gets seriously injured in an international match and doesn't recover, his earning power is hugely reduced. Arsenals Jesus is a perfect example. He has not been the same after being injured playing for Brazil, He was the #1 strker at Arsenal, not anymore, and he will probably get dumped after this season. His earning power will fall dramatically when that happens because he is not as good anymore after his injury.

Everyone is saying international matches need to stop. What needs to stop is the new champions league and the new club World Cup format . There are way too many matches in club football now. What’s needed is more internationals. It’s obvious a few years ago, they wanted a super league format to make a lot more money. Teams are going to complain that there are too many matches, and it will eventually be a Super league. You will still have the premier league, only without the top clubs in it. The World Cup is for all nations to enjoy. Now it’s being ruined by money and greed. I feel sorry for the lesser nations that want to improve as a country and bring football together.
