Can compressor start with no / low refrigerant?

Problem is your $500 a/c is worth about $250 and you may have a fire hazard since we don't know why the wire was melted do we or it may likely burn out again. Better just to move on to another piece of chinese garbage.

Just so you know in many countries your not allowed to do any maintenance on airco units unless you are F-gases certified. this is due to those gasses being HIGHLY damaging to our ozone layer if they escape the unit.

Great Great video man! I've looked and looked and couldn't find nothing remotely close till I seen this one... we have same issue same fan however I found out the the bottom fan that spins when condenser or compressor kicks on which gives the cold air, actually can't spin becuz its bar is so low the its sitting on the plastic unable to rotate so it's just hums. How can I tighten that bar and wheel up so that it hangs again and able to spin? For the life of me I cannot pry the housing apart or get wheel off even after removing nuts and screws.. can u help me?

That's the same exact part that burned up on my Rollibot Cool310 AC. Two days ago my AC stopped blowing cold air so I took it part and found this same issue. Except I didn't find this video until just now after I already dropped $100 on a board replacement because I couldn't find parts.

Mine blows cold and the relay turns on when the machine starts it simply doesn’t lower in temp or go to the set temp

This is a great tutorial! I looked into mine and it doesn’t not have a burnt relay and the compressor seems to kick in but the air isn’t getting colder. I’m thinking the next thing to check is recharging the refrigerant.

I don't believe it's a one hour fix. Dismantling, getting tools ready, looking up the part and ordering, putting the thing back together, cleaning the work space and getting the tools out of the way, all this takes more than an hour.

Good diagnosis and repair. Cheers! If the same thing happens again, you could upgrade the relay to a contactor which can handle higher current. The only caveat is the contactor would be remote mounted with wires soldered to the board to run to the contactor.

One thing you need to wonder about is why the relay burned in the first place. So good find, great part price from China... Is the relay going to burn again? :)

They really REALLY need to make these easily rechargeable by the end user or at least an auto-shop or something. It's ludicrously wasteful how many of these expensive units get junked when the only thing they needed was refrigerant, but that's modern capitalism for ya....make trash products that don't last and are far more difficult than necessary for the average person to repair.

$5 part plus $80k worth of technical knowledge and tah-dah; done.

Would have used another flag terminal as it would have put less strain on the connector. Bet it was loosened over time due to vibration leading to a poor connection through stretching and thus heat buildup and ultimate failure.

wish mine had been an easy fix. mine apparently is the coolant, as I can't find anything else. But the pump kicks in. I also don't see any oily residue, but I did find a little green corrosion on top pump and by one of the rads.

Which to wires did you connect please in order to see if the compressor kicks on?? You did not show in your vid. I'm having the exact same problem but my relay looks normal.

This was great. And you know what i always do, if i cant fix something like this? I find parts on ebay for it that sell often, and i take them off and sell them. You can sell 5 or 6 things that people like you buy and get $100-200 back. I partsed out my samsung dryer when it failed and have made over $160 so far with several parts to go still. And ive made enough on 2 broken vacuum cleaners to buy 2 or 3 brand new units. Some equipment i sell gets me way more money than the price a new unit would cost. Just has to be high demand items, and just junk or scrap the rest of it.

What about when they stop making hot air? We bought one that does cold and heat and the heat won’t kick on. It’s only a year old.

Ok so I’m looking for answers, anybody help. I have a costway portable air conditioner and my compressor would kick in for about 15 secs then it would kick out and give me the E5 error code i tried to see if was any damaged wires on the circuit board but it’s none, i checked to see if any wires was loose and their wasn’t. Any information would help please.
