ОтветитьI'm from India, and there is no such thing that we should not eat from left hand, yeah using your right hand in taking prasad( sweet from temple) , you should always take from right hand as left is not to be used with prasad and also in festivals like rakshabhandan we wear band only in right hand. So basically we have to use right hand in kind of spiritual things. Anyways I eat food from both of my hands
ОтветитьI'm South Asian, Yes it is insulting to use two hands but its not about the ""LEFT HAND"". Actually, religiously it is said not to eat with Left Hands but there are left-handed people a lot over here!

ОтветитьIt's crazy because literally the EXACT SAME THING happened to my cousin in Italy! She asked for parmesan cheese for her pizza and the chef came out of the kitchen and started screaming at her! She's extremely well traveled and well versed in cultural etiquette, so I couldn't believe that happened when she told me! 😂
ОтветитьUhh... I have lived in 🇮🇳 India my entire life.
No rule about not touching food with left hand.

The Kazakhstan one. I'd have never guessed that!
ОтветитьI would probably lay credence to this lesson on universal etiquette lesson ,if it was not given to me on a man wearing a hot dog costume!!!
ОтветитьMost of these etiquettes are straight up irrational superstitions that some backward thinking people hold on to hold back human progress in general

ОтветитьToasting is only on special occasions though and it's not only Georgia but much of the South. It's mostly done at weddings and ceremonies, typically nobody cares how you consume your wine 😅

ОтветитьWell, the Indian rule is absolutely right. We always use right hands while doing many things. You can write with left but never eat with that hand. Sometimes, You can hold the spoon in left and eat. Have a nice day ! ❤ ;-)
