I wanna move to Chicago

my mom and i are moving back to our home state of illinois being from chicago , but residing in las vegas unfortunately . we’re looking to move to schaumburg , il . looking for a realtor . if you know anyone in schaumburg or even your company please let me know !

Libertyville?? Buffalo Grove??? Claredon Hills?? None of these are even in Cook County. Try Homewood.

Ive lived in half of the communities you listed and theres a few critical things worth mentioning....

Libertyville and Buffalo Grove are not places to live if you are single.
-Libertyville is also VERY expensive EVERYWHERE!

Evanston becomes a ghost town after 9pm on weekends. Most of the "college kids" go to Chicago to party or stay inside their homes, so you wont be seeing any outdoor parties or hearing nosies at most college towns.
-Also, most families stay in after 9pm, so the nightlife is nonexistent.

I'm from Libertyville. It is an absolutely fabulous town to live in.

As ive visited Chicagoland before, I feel the Wheaton should be on this list. It has an amazing downtown and the centerpiece of Wheaton College, Blanchord Hall, is very historic and beautiful.

Naperville has lost its identity

Evanston is super expensive and only Rich people can afford to live here , due to tax policy

I don't care how nice the suburbs are. Anywhere near Chicago is unaffordable due to the real estate taxes!!!! They are so high you'd think their fire engines are gold plated!!!😕

As usual the media concentrates on the city of Chicago and the crime. Suburbs are hardly ever mentioned in any city across the USA. So the perception that Illinois is a crime ridden state is wrong. Illinois is a big long state, with many nice areas along with lots of farm land.
But I guess that's why its a flyover state, maybe landing in Chicago to change planes on their way to California.

What about North Chicago and Waukegan

Sadly, Highland Park was one of the best suburbs. Why don't we have sane gun laws in the United States, wait to purchase, background checks, gun lockers, etc. My heart will always go out to the people of this city.

Winnetka, Lake Forest, Tinley Park, Willowbrook, Plainfield.

The 2nd largest? What mall is larger than Woodfield?

Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale and Downers Grove are all right next to each other on the Metra line too. That area of Chicago is doing something very right.

The best one is Evanston

The crappy thing about that whole area is that every thing is old

Lake Forest is #1, but not a close suburb of Chicago. That is a good attribute.

I am surprised you didn't include Oak Park (which is sort of seamlessly connected to River Forest and Forest Park). Lots of construction of new condos here. Lots of excellent restaurants, parks, community activities and many resources. Excellent schools.

Yeah if you like liberal 💩holes, move to Illinois. The weather is gre.., umm the taxes are grea…, wait, don’t move to Illinois. Run from Illinois for all the right reasons. I was born and raised there and spent most of my adult life there. It was a breath of fresh air getting out!!!

Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Batavia, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, and Mt. Prospect are great towns deserving of an honorable mention I’d say as well!

I stayed at a hotel in Schaumburg it was nice as hell. I didn’t know how to eat off the I pass take the loop to 290 north exit Schaumburg

The houses in Downers Grove were built in the fifties and have all kinds of plumbing problems and they're pretty small

All north shore suburbs should be on this list. Can’t believe only Evanston made it here.

You should have added that Naperville is a swinging capital of the United States

Park Ridge should’ve made it with low crime great park district Vibrant downtown and the best high school ever Maine South !

I’m surprise you have zero North Shore suburbs here. Wimette, Winnetka and Glencoe. These all have beaches to Lake Michigan and are gorgeous

I grew up in Glen Ellyn. If I ever get the money I would love to move back to the north side of Glen Ellyn

Hows the diverstiy in these places? Can you do a most diverse suburbs if so?

All Great Towns but I'd put St Charles and Genva over some of these other towns. Especially Geneva their Down town is great. As for Family friendly town my Town Batavia is a great town they do need to fix it up a bit down town is ok but I can stand the small businesses scattered threw the town.
