Ответитьgreat update James ! thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. . Lance
ОтветитьDetail looks good. In my opinion, the sound is TERRIBLE. Bell and horn are worse than the Intermountain ones with ESU Loksound.
ОтветитьHi,
Which one would you recommend (from a aesthetic standpoint) Athearn or MTH?
Awesome review! I'm 40th like!
ОтветитьThe horn on the first run was a K5LLA. This one is a K5HL and it's the correct horn.
ОтветитьI want to know where you got that Tardis. I want one for my layout!!!!
Ответить3.5 ounces? My Lionel die-cast ES44AC's pull 4.0 pounds LOL Anyways, thanks for the video bud!
ОтветитьI have the UP one from the first run and I love she !
ОтветитьFor those who want prototype info on the reviews, have you seen Model Railroad News magazine? (Not affiliated with Model Railroad Hobbyist or Model Railroader) Their model reviews always include great detailed info on the prototype, too. A great read every month, full of information and education!
Ответитьthe c p unit looks amazing ,, thanks james for the view
ОтветитьThe horn is correct, now. The earlier run had the sd70ace horn. ESU still blows tsunami out the water.
Ответитьthe Tardis is back.I love doctor who.Long live the doctor.Cool review on the Athearn ES44AC HO Scale.
Ответитьgreat review james maybe try and show in a review how many cars a locomotive will pull not just a pull test just a thought but again great review
ОтветитьSure, blame the wife ... lol
Ответитьthe newest ge model is the ET44AC, been on a few
ОтветитьNice review. Beautiful locomotives. Diggin' the BNSF and CP mostly. I will point out, that 2 of the stanchions on the handrail leaving the cab on the CP unit look either broken, or popped out of the walkway.
ОтветитьAre you a Dr. Who fan? I noticed the Tartas on your layout.
ОтветитьWife loves stealing the scale for the kitchen. Ha! Same problem here! She defends herself by saying "It's a kitchen scale," of course...
ОтветитьSo if Athearn has an ES44 mold/casting/whatever you call it... Why on earth were their NS GE heritage units made from AC44's? They kind of let Intermountain take all of the business for anyone who wanted them at least somewhat accurate.
Ответитьwas for Overlands Tower 55 Athearn wouldn't even be doing the ES44AC or SD70ACe WAITING ON THE ES44DC but Athearns too dumb to figure it out-hate Intermountains junk
Ответитьnice
Ответитьvery good video can you do a video on all your lockmotives
ОтветитьI rather go with MTH or soon to be Broadway Limited... At least they have the proper antenna arrays on the cab roof, plus more features.
ОтветитьStarting to collect HO models for my display collectons, currently have 130 N scale locos and have 5 Athearn models. Also have 7 from MTH and 1 from FVM.
Ответить3rd best option on the market for the es44ac. Athearn has the noisiest drive behind intermountain and mth, and no leds. Theres just not a good reason to buy one of these rather than intermountain or mth.
ОтветитьThe units look great. I wish they would change the lights and hand rails.Scott
ОтветитьHey James! This is a very good review!
Please Please Please keep the reviews long and detailed! there are plenty of other people out there doing short reviews! people watch your stuff because you cover EVERYTHING!!!
Also prototype information would be cool
do you think that when you do the weight/pull tests that you could do a comparison for the weight to other locos in the same class?(broadway AC6000, MTH Dash9 Athearn/MTH SD70ace)
and could you do a video some time specifically on pull tests showing say one of each of these locomotives: Athearn ES44AC, an MTH Sd70ace/ES44AC and broadway AC6000; weigh all three/four, do pull tests on all of them and then do a pull test with as many cars as they can pull on straight and level track? maybe you could put up a chart on the video showing the weight and pull in ounces of each and how many cars each pulled so we could see how the pull translates into cars pulled.
Last thing, you seem very knowledgeable on the details of modern diesel locomotives and I know you are not into steam but you buy steamers that are currently in excursion service. I like how you call out each detail on your diesel reviews (I have actually learned a lot from your reviews) but when you review steam you don't call out many details. Maybe you could try to find out what some of the parts are on a real steamer and familiarize yourself since you have been doing more steam reviews.
Hi James,
You had mentioned doing 360 degree views of products in your reviews in the future. I would suggest getting a rotating cake stand. That way you can sit the item on the stand, set your camera in front and just rotate the stand without having to hold it. Just a thought. Great job with the videos.
Hey I live in texas
ОтветитьWould you recommend the Athearn ES44AC or the MTH ES44AC or the MTH Dash-9
ОтветитьI have 2 athern genesis ES44AC UP Locomotives # 5503 and 5519
Ответитьdo metrolink set with dcc engine
ОтветитьI can't wait for the intermountain tier 4's
ОтветитьI like the turntable presentations that you have started to do, good lighting and close up.
ОтветитьI like the BNSF Locomotive reviews
ОтветитьI looks like the rear trucks were derailed when you did your pull test...
ОтветитьWhat's better MTH or Athearn ? Are you a millionaire? You seem to buy trains like they cost $1.00 each !!! Too expensive for me . In Canada much more expensive plus 13% tax !!!
Ответитьhi ive been watching your videos for years final got rid of off my uk rolling stock. not many shops here in UK sell American stuff. do you happen to know any good shops in the states that would be able to ship to scotland.
ОтветитьWhat oil do you use for oil on the Broadway limited es44ac with smoke.
ОтветитьI have the union pacific #5267.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that noticed the Tardis sitting there?
ОтветитьYour fingers are not fat
ОтветитьYOUR FINGER IS NOT FAT
ОтветитьI like your Texas shirt
