When someone just talks like this I switch off but you come across as so ‘ normal’ and I love Astons so I’ve subscribed and look forward to seeing the progress.
ОтветитьI like the swedish plane hanging from the roof 🤘🇸🇪
ОтветитьThe things we do to get the things we really want!!! - story is very entertaining, especially the matter of fact way you tell it!!!
Ответитьweak and your head stuck in the video makes this a stupid video !
ОтветитьMany years ago I bought an Aston Martin DBS, it was stripped, with no interior and no engine Ln silver. The thing is it was smashed in the nearside front wing! I fitted an American engine, but a chewy 327
This looks so much like it, I wonder if it's the same one, registration started ANK.
ALEC
Under all the bondo it turns out he has a jensen interceptor😂😂😂….just kidding…thats gonna be a cool aston when its done….a supercharged LS would wake that thing up
ОтветитьGreat to find you. Really looking forward to see how it all comes together.
Very nice video and I'm on board for the journey...
😅if you can, stick with the Aston project. Doesn't matter if it takes months and years. British automotive history is in your capable hands.
ОтветитьNew subscriber here wishing you good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing the build, can you still get a list of previous keepers due to gdpr 😊
ОтветитьMaybe consider painting something over the red spot on the leather seat?
ОтветитьExcellent review of your project.... my favorite quote you might ask?.... "it was brilliantly done, even though it was completely idiotic and disgusting"!
ОтветитьWhat an interesting new channel.
ОтветитьI am a big Aston Martin fan my favourite is the DB6 series 2 so I am looking forward to seeing you do this great car best of luck can’t wait for more videos 😊
ОтветитьCommenting for the sake of the algorithm
ОтветитьGreat vid, good luck mate! You had 5he guts to go ahead with that dodgy purchase! Love your barn. Looking forward to the next episode.
ОтветитьLooks to me like a plasterer was brought in for the filler on you're DBS dude!
ОтветитьBrave and sensible young man💪 I will follow with interest.
ОтветитьJust got yourself a new subscriber, just love everything about Aston Martins. Looking forward to seeing more of your build.
Good luck with it.
Congratulations on taking on such a project. I did an E-type with the same intentions and ended up with a concourse winner and scared to drive it in the end.
Looking forward to seeing your progress
As a guy who hunts down barn finds and neglected gems, I could see the beauty in her from the very first image you provided. And once you removed the filler to reveal more angular curvature‘s, I became smitten by how gorgeous she is. Can’t wait to see all your future work and to getting her where she needs to be. It’s nice to know she finally is in capable and caring hands, and to know from here on out it’s going to get better.
ОтветитьI have been doing some classic repairs for people and have found so much filler and bodgery, it is just breath taking, I have nver understood how all the filling and sanding can be easier or cheaper than just doing a proper repair. I am 66 and have dreamed of having an Aston Martin for most of my life so you are now living my dream, good luck with it, I shall watch with interest.
ОтветитьDon't know where you are but there is a brilliant leather shop in Sheffield - Bielawskis - Sheffield Trimming Company. The local Range Rover dealers use them for trim and leather repairs. I'm sure they could sort out your seats.
ОтветитьGreat video must have been a nightmare buying good luck 👍
ОтветитьGood luck mate.🇬🇧
ОтветитьGood luck, what a fantastic project. How often will you be posting videos?
ОтветитьI look forward to following this build.
ОтветитьBest of luck, I'm looking forward to seeing progress. I've always loved these cars,
ОтветитьNice! Liked & subbed ☮🦘🦘🦘
ОтветитьSuspension, QA1 or something , totally transform it into a modern distance cruiser, Holley EFI or equivalent would make it much less thirsty, 4 speed overdrive hydraulic not computer transmission, just suggestions, great project
ОтветитьLiked and subscribed.. congrats on this mate wow what a find! Your Aston lay there waiting for you ! …
Could maybe try acetone on the red mark on the seat?
Great to see someone with a deep and abiding passion for a specific marque. Well done!
ОтветитьWorking through these videos backwards. I didn't realise this had a Mopar motor in it. I won't go so far as to say that makes it even better, but it certainly opens up your options for big power on the cheap and also stops you having to worry about being a stickler for originality. Bristol used these motors iirc. I'd do a manual six speed and a stand alone efi and personally, I love that original Aegean blue.
ОтветитьThat was a really bizarre start to an enormous task.
If you are going to keep the "wrong" engine, you might as well install electric propulsion. And have more fun doing it, I reckon.
Just be careful with your choice of battery. You don't want one which spontaneously explodes. I think a sodium chemistry would be safest.
Hats off to you! what an awesome build and well done for following your dreams.
Ответитьare you sure they were " your trusted mechanic friends" and not potential buyers? geezer number 1 avoiding auction commission
Ответитьstay calm, google will pay for it, and you'll always have a piece of motoring history, NO REGRETS

ОтветитьBack when this car was new my mates dad was a chauffeur, and would drive an Arab around in a variety of nice cars. We lived on council estate and when he brought these cars home they stood out like a sore thumb. One of the cars was an Aston Martin DBS. It was dark blue and looked amazing. We got to sit in it and he drove us to the local shops. It had an 8 track sound system which was quite hi tech back then. Elvis I think was one of the big cassettes he played. We would have been about 11 or 12 back then. Great car and we were thrilled to sit in for a drive.
ОтветитьI would have run a mile from this.
Ответитьresto mod it !
Ответитьlooking forward to watching further videos !
Ответитьthe DBSV8 front is better thena the later v8 with the twin healights , but it does need a flip tail spolier
Ответитьi saw the ad as well,
Ответитьthe B S 1 numberplate on bret sinclairs DBSV8 aston martin belonged to billy smart the circus guy
ОтветитьI wish this guy all the best with this restoration, it will be great to see how it comes along.
Ответитьgood luck with this, a friend of mine has a ford capri based kit car of one of these..
ОтветитьWhat’s the original colour would a v12 out of a jag or db7 fit and be a acceptable replacement.
Personally if that car was original as poss to look at and pop the bonnet and there’s a v12 Aston motor with a manual box how can you not admire that ???
My first time here and enjoyed the introduction so liked and subbed 👍
hey you have a good one there are some really rot boxes about. good luck with yours
ОтветитьI love thease cars it just goes to show good things come to those who wait!
