Cobb said brain function works 20 times every level you go deep. Three levels deep means 20*20*20=8000. This implies every unit of time in the real world is 8,000 times longer in the third level dream. Hence 10 hrs in the real world is 80,000 hrs in 3rd level dream world. There are 8,766 hrs in a year, so you get a bit more than 9 years for 80k hours.
