But pufferfish are smart & gentle toward human , like Diodon Hystrix , that love to interact with divers.
Stone fish are very dangerous because like the Trachinidae ,they buried them in the sand.
For the Lion Fish & red lion fish , the poison will make you triple the size of the pricked finger but you risk nothing, after 4 hours it's over, but all this time it's throwing and it's very numb.
Heat partially neutralizes the latter as well.

When i was younger my parents use to bring me to thr beach after a big typhoon hit our rest house the shore was full of live puffers the local kids has a badmenton and the puffers was their ball theyre bouncy but i didnt atempt to play w/ it

In Haiti the puffer fish is used to make a poison to turn people into zombies.

The orange box pufferfish was on of my favorite fishes to spot snorkeling.
