The BEST Fight In ISEKAI HISTORY

Probably the best episode this season as well! It was such an amazing episode! Garf really stole the show this episode too!

It seems they got some cool director for this Grafiel fight scene, but it’s really unclear what happened there. The only moment that was clear was with the eye, and after that, it was completely confusing. Garfield seemed to growl at him, and then he just died or something? And all those overly animated moments really have no relevance. He raised his glowing leg and had to wave it back and forth for some reason. Or those shots 360 spinning with some karate action. Has Garfiel ever done karate before?
It was only on my third watch of the fight that I realized he bit his neck. They could have emphasized that or shown some more, right?

Can you even tell what happened in the fight? (I can’t) I mean, obviously it looks good, but it sacrifices clarity for pointless sakuga imo.

Ive seen many fights in isekai that were higher quality from start to finish.

The sequence was great but the entire ty is far from "the best"

Idk man, the camera angles and lack of easily identifiable finishing hit made it hard for me to even tell what was happening. I think Re zero is probably top 3 of all time, but when are we going to get Wilhelm exchanging more than 4 sword strikes in a single scene? Just feels like season 1 had way more actually shown in fights. We get all the insane hype, but Emilia and Reinhard are the only ones doing cool combos. According to the LN, Garfiel pretty much just tired Kurgan out because Kurgan can't regenerate. The fight between Garfiel and Elsa was much more impactful imo, but I'm obviously still gonna watch.

i did liked the episode but i had a brief moment of alienation during the fight, since something of those animations didnt gave me the re zero style. very well done, of course, but slightly strange.

I was absolutely blown away, and speechless at times with the animation, it has came so far since 2016. Props to the animators, brought a damn tear to my eye watching it today.

I would argue Rudy vs Dragon god was the best fight in isekai history imo, mushoku tensei has tons of good fights too

I dont think it was all that to be honest the animation was great but it was confusing and the ost was a little underwhelming for the amount of crazy shit going on in the screen

Welp, the BEST fight scene in all of Rezero since it first launch goes to Garfiel's fight.
I think the only fight come close to the dynamic / creativity of this fight is Whale War in S1. (When Welham run on the whale slashing it XD)
I'm very glad though cuz Garfiel is my absolute favourite character in Rezero :D

idk about "best" but it definitely is up there. Even if we're talking about pure animation I'd put Orsted vs Rudeus, and Rimuru vs Farmuth Army, or Rimuru vs Hinata as better animated fight scenes. As for suspense and build up id say MT destroys them for the Orsted fight scene.

Hell, even the fight against the spider is a good contender in the topic of animation.

I'm not tryna hate lol I'm just pointing out how you cant really label a fight scene as the "greatest"; even if we're only talking about isekai. I think this fight does great in story telling/character growth, something the other fight scenes don't really have for them as much. Seeing Garfield come over his trauma while having to face an ultimatum (fail to fight and risk everyone around him vs coming over his trauma no matter what and saving everyone) is probably where this fight scene shines.
