I love Stevie and love your videos. Who's to say that's not an F#7, making it a clean V7-I?
ОтветитьThrows out a dozen chords I’ve never heard of. “That’s level 1. Effortless modulation.“ 🤯
ОтветитьI see NOTHING "effortless" about these modulations: I woulda gone with "EXOTIC" modulations.
ОтветитьIsn't that BMaj7 in "my cherry amour" an modal borrowed chord? To really modulate we need to hear that chord as the tonic and that doesn't happen, right?
ОтветитьFUCKIN GENIUS!!!!
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьLove this genius channel. Cheers!
Ответитьi see you played in 1994 in my country at the north sea jazz Festival in The Huage.... which group did you toured with?
ОтветитьSheer Brilliance, something you can`t really learn, you need to be connected to the higher power to pull it off like Stevie did
ОтветитьGreat!!😊
ОтветитьBruh... you go too fast... how the f is one supposed to understand..how can you just know what chords you play and how to really know when song is modulated??
ОтветитьI love this, but if you are a Stevie fan, we know the songs and see the value of this example and demonstration. However, I can't hear what you're showing us over the music, and it was very challenging to enjoy the way I thought I might. Giving feedback for future videos.
ОтветитьIs a lot of the modal interchange
Ответитьthanks Peter ! Stevie the Wonder ! On My cherie Amore, I hear more DbM7 to BM7 via C7#9 and the tritone substitue of C7#9 = Gb7(13)..
ОтветитьWow merci, quelle science! Vous expliquez bien, on est plongé dans le vif du sujet!! Ça donne le goût d'apprendre!
ОтветитьGreat sounding Rhodes! How do you like it compared to the vintage vibe piano?
ОтветитьI cant listen to Send One Your Love without thinking of Dilla's sample of it, on Fly Girl 1 by7 slum village
ОтветитьStevie Wonder is God...he can hear sounds better than people who can c.
ОтветитьLove how I can play along with you, having the exact same Rhodes (Mk II suitcase) 😊
ОтветитьExcellent analysis. Peter, you've got sharp ears! Ok, carry on...
ОтветитьBravi both.
ОтветитьI can’t explain how my ears feel every time you improvise when demonstrating chord progressions ☺️
ОтветитьThis guy knows ball.
ОтветитьSuch a great video!!
ОтветитьThe first time I listen too high really blew my mind . It's so cool and strange..
ОтветитьGreat video, I will just say this, come on, it's Stevie, the greatest ever
ОтветитьWhat’s the full lesson on this??
ОтветитьHe’s 74
Ten years older than l am
More like 'Effortless Analysis'. I know it's not but great musicians make it look that way. Thanks ever so much for sharing these amazing insights - they took my breath away!
ОтветитьSteve i love you so much ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьGreat Master Class and free THANKS ❤
ОтветитьLooking in my mirror lick. At the end of Ceora, start of I can’t help it, and in thousands of solos. My fav lick
ОтветитьThank you very much! I've been playing all 5 pieces in my own solo guitar version for many years, but I got 2 or 3 chords wrong. Now I know better. Stevie is a genius and you are a brilliant expert in harmonic analysis.
ОтветитьPeter, thank you so very much for this analysis, lesson, performance...all delivered with the obvious joy you have "as" you play Stevie's music...I am in love this video. You made my day and, I assure you, this video will fill in the empty day when I need the harmonic genius and lyrics of The American Genius, Mr. Wonder.
ОтветитьDon't hold back your feelings, Peter...Your facials during Send One Your Love are so sweet and reflective of how the modulations move you!
ОтветитьNicely done!!
ОтветитьGreat video. Watched it many times. Stevie is truly the second coming.
ОтветитьWell this is what he hears. If you could hear and think the way he does you could do it too. You play what you can hear. But Stevie is playing jazz style music we don't put boundaries on how we create. Remember he was a big Duke Ellington fan and had access to people,if he wanted to know some plus Ray Charles was around. But the fact is Stevie is a pure Genius. The song with Michael was definitely inspired by Quincy Jones. The sound the feel, very jazzy. No separation.
ОтветитьUCity representing!
ОтветитьBobby womack puts notes together too on the 6 string
ОтветитьWhy not call B as Cb? It makes more sense if everything else is flat key! The key of Cb was a revelation to me.
ОтветитьI saw an interview where Stevie was asked if he could read music, he said no. Another interview, Stevie said that the notes are fliating around in his mind. So, is he badically just playing what sounds good to him instead of applying a theory? Aren't many hits a melody with a song built to fit?
Ответитьthose are some spread out chords!!
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic vid.just enormously helpful and inspiring ❤
ОтветитьWhat a cool dude. I'd love to have lessons by this guy
