You could glue a magnet to the bottom of the jar and another at the back of the crate. That would give them a bit of resistance to falling out. Just my opinion.

I'm a but confused as to which type of jars fits best. Are they the 8oz jars? Regular mouth or wide mouth? Thank you!

The Jars Muttnchop is showing are not pint jars, but likely 1/2 pint jars.
The inside dimensions on my crate is 2 7/8" square and 2 3/4" deep. My pint Ball jars are too big in diameter to fit, so be sure that your jars will fit inside the 2 7/8" dimension.

I just got one. I store my tobacco in 1/2 pint jars, but the jars are a little too big/the slots are too small.

Either Michael’s changed their specs on this or the fine folks who produce Ball Jars slightly widened their pint size jars: I just can’t seem to make this work for me. Many thanks for this video MCP! You’re the best 🖖

PSA: The jars that fit are actually HALF-PINT sized. I know Muttnchop Piper said pint size in the video. But he has stated in other comments that they are indeed half-pint and I can personally attest to this.

Muttnchop! I just got mine tonight. It was on clearance in the store for under $4. They couldn't find it when I went to the store last night, so I had to order it to the store online (same-day) for around $15, then go back tonight to pick it up. The Michael's associate returned it so I could get my $15 back, then re-sold it to me for under four dollars. You're a hero, man.

Good Evening Mr. Piper, First of all, I wanted to thank you for all your useful videos and the others that have left very useful comments!! I don't believe I have ever left a reply after watching many many videos but felt obligated to share my thoughts. First of all, I am a new pipe smoker (3 months) and I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the "ART". I was a cigarette smoke for over 30 years and quit about 5 years ago and transitioned into vaping due to a surgery I had in my neck and couldn't smoke while in the hospital. Anyways, my wife and a friend was visiting the mountains in Asheville and because of my love for burning tobacco, she bought me a pipe and just the bare essentials (tobacco samples, cleaners, etc.) I was delighted to give it a try when she surprised me with it and I had never smoked a pipe so I load that baby up and start puffing away.....WOW....blister on my tongue, pulled the stem out and cracked my new pipe, etc, all the no no's of pipe smoking. Most of my friends smoke cigars and I occassionally will smoke one but not a huge fan of cigars and no one I knew smoked a pipe so I started "googling" and now you are my friend and you didn't even know it! What led me to leave this comment was the above crates....I couldn't figure out how to face forward all my jars to see them at one time rather than stacking them so I searched the above crates and there were 2 in Greenville, NC and no more within a 100 mile radius and not available online. And they were still 12.99 each plus got he 40% off per one of your commentors. My wife went to Michael's as it is only 30 min from where I live and bought me both!! She is actually painting and spicing them up to put in my bar/lounging area for easy access to my tobacco while I smoke my pipe in my bar area with my room purifier (from your video) and my wife loves the instant aroma of my smokes. What a wonderful life! As I sum it up and have made up for not leaving any replies in the past, haha, I have purchased many pipes, air purifiers, crates, cleaners, lighters, tamps, Frangelica, many tobaccos, all size Ball jars, labels and pretty much everything you mention for "The Art of Pipe Smoking" and have enjoyed every minute of it thanks to alot of your videos and information. Thank you again sir and thank you for serving our country as well!!

What an awesome idea... As some others have stated... (unfortunately I am new to pipe smoking and have recently found chris' channel and it's my favorite) I wish him well w his life and family and hope he returns. Muttnchop... This item seems to be discontinued. Any other possible links to it or alternatives?

Not sure if the Michaels crate is still available, but I bought a 1950’s soda crate that was from Coke Cola. It has the same size slots as this 24 jar crate, but has only 12 slots. It’s super heavy duty and beautifully aged. I’m still searching for this crate you display here.

8 years later of course yet another great discontinued product.
