is liver your go to bait for big channel catfish?

I started using tube gauze from the medical supply store. I tie off one end and stuff it full of liver and close it with hook works great. just started using the T-Turn rigs this last season for carp and I love em. Ordered a couple cat ones that i didn't get to try yet and just made a recent order of a variety of them looking forward to open water even know I've been enjoying the hard water as well. thanks for all the great content

I use elastic thread to tie (wrap) on the livers, better hookset, no bag to go through, and a more natural presentation, no tying neccesary!

Only bait I will ever use for catfish is chicken liver. Went out today and crushed probably 25-30 in 3 hours never used the mesh bags however but I don’t fish from a boat I always wade in a creek. Snagged a lot of 5-6 pounders

These channels are beautiful , my biggest channel was as big as your first hah , I recommend chumming more chicken liver around your cast/ drop area . Monsters love it .

What size hooks do yu use?

We don’t have the flat heads or the blues but our channel cats are ALOT bigger then the ones they catch in the states, that’s because we don’t have the flats and blues eating all the channel cats before they reach there true potential size, as they do here in Canada :)

Learned how to bait with liver when i was a kid, my Brother used it (in gauze pouch) if you'll run your pouch on up above the hook on the line, you won't need to replace after each catch. Great video😊

Good vid! Another tip for anyone out there, treble hooks work okay if you don't want to mess with mesh or string.(Letting the liver rot a bit is irrestible to em, altho it is a nasty mess it works)

Use a three point hook

In my experience +10 pound cats will run really hard with your drag anytime they're pulled in close to the boat/bank. This is usually when I'll loosen my drag. Requires some patience to wait til they tire themselves out, some of them take ages
