ОтветитьHey kid, I'm a computer. Stop all the downloading
ОтветитьAre you sure that the people who designed this "thing" weren't Germans in disguise? If you wanted to design a weapon for your enemy, you could hardly do better than this. In the same light, the Egyptian Hakim rifle was such an abomination that I've often wondered if the Israelis were somehow involved in getting it adopted by the Egyptians.... (just kidding)
ОтветитьCame here to see comments about Sir Ian Big Column
ОтветитьThanks for letting us know!!! Good works!!!
Ответитьi feel like when everyone complains about the bipod being too tall i feel like they're using it wrong i think the spikes stick into the ground and you pull the thing toward you not the setup used by everyone
ОтветитьIf it seems insane,,, might have been a reason in contemporary doctrine.
ОтветитьI think the bipod is meant more to handle the berm of a trench than level ground
ОтветитьAh, the future is bright - still think this was Mae's idea....
ОтветитьI'd love to have this gun. In airsoft too
ОтветитьMy favorite part is how they have holes everywhere in the gun and the magazine just because, but then the ejection port, which is the only of those hole that is actually important for function, has the shape of the casing. Just because you can not afford that extra 2 mm² for dirt to enter the gun.
ОтветитьOK but you folks are complaining that the gun is to high and you had a hard time getting the barrel down far enough but according to the target if you'd have gotten the barrel lower you would have under shot the target. There were no chest or head shots they were all mid section and lower. So perhaps a lot of discomfort and instability were from improperly aiming in the first place. I mean perhaps if you chose a more comfortable aim and position rather than struggling to push the barrel down it would have been head and chest groupings.
ОтветитьMy friend, Roy Hulbert, Chardon , Ohio, carried one in Ww1. Said it was a piece of crap !
ОтветитьR Lee Ermey used 1 of these Chauchats he only fired 4 rounds before it jammed
ОтветитьThey maked a CRAPPY gun, specially when did they try to maked 20,000 of the 30.06 kind for the USA marines. USA marines did NOT liked them. Bi-pods were way very too high and maked you a target and too they geted blacked eyes from the SLAP SLAP which were they not told of. Too all so they would jammed in CLEANED NO DIRT places at every 300 bullets and in to combat ined the fields it did jammed at each every about 100 bullets!!!
It was a crappy combating gun.
According to quick google-fu France donated 5000 m/1915s to Finland during the Winter War. That arrived in late January-early February of 1940, and did not get issued during that war. They were issued during the Continuation War to artillery (coastal or field depending on the source) troops, possibly home guard and bicycle troops, and also some infantry.

ОтветитьShe sure has the right bulk to handle that gun.
ОтветитьI saw an interview with a surviving WW1 veteran, when asked about the Charchat he commented that you could take it apart and build a still with the pieces. He also stated that when the French issued them the gun the Americans just walked around the corner and threw it in a ditch.
ОтветитьI think if you shot it from a trench or a window you would find it changes the bipod elevation and sand bags like in war stacked give a window and adjust elevation down by rocking backwards rather then up and down . Back wards lowers the front of the barrel while you lean back away from close range assault. That's why the bipod is wobbly Does the sight blade turn to or flip around or do the French just have right handed soldiers. May give it a try . Just a different view from a fan .
ОтветитьCompletely transform and in particular the magazine, the barrel by FN Herstal, in short nothing remains of the original, no illutions the FN model worked but was very slow all the mechanism was springs and no gas recovery, Fn never claimed the patent he could modestly transform everything, America bought some versions of Fn
Ответить👍👌
ОтветитьDude I love your name! If I ever have a son. I'm gonna name him after you.
ОтветитьWe're JAMMING We're JAMMING 🇯🇲
ОтветитьI would not want to rely on that thing.
ОтветитьThe PPSH's Grandfather lol
Ответитьbattlefield 1 flashbacks
ОтветитьI need this gun!!!
ОтветитьPlease include the songs you use in the description
ОтветитьWow, looking at the butt stock and pistol grip, the Model 1913 looks suspiciously like a prototype for the FG.42 😮
ОтветитьThe tough that is more then 100 years old is amazing
ОтветитьRewatching this again I’ve realized the Chauchat is just cool looking. It’s got sheet metal, a crazy banana mag and a vertical fore grip. Looks like something made for a steampunk terminator.
ОтветитьI am always wondering why are the French triggers so straight? Was there some practical or mechanical reason or did they just style them like that? Looks like some kid drew that trigger with a crayon.
ОтветитьWouldn't the tall bipod atleast be useful for shooting the gun from behind sandbags in a trench?
ОтветитьGardez votre mépris ; l’américain !!
ОтветитьOne of my favorite weapon in World War Heroes ❤
ОтветитьSome of these people cry about recoil of this stuff like ar mae handles. 8mm machine gun . And any other cal including 30/06
Ответитьgame: how often can you say "project lightning" in one video
ОтветитьA typical piece of frogsh*t that got our guys, forced to use it killed. I'm sorry but there it is.
ОтветитьGreat episode. Please fire the weapon for what it designed for! Remember this gun was not design to be used lying down …. It designed to shot from the hip or from the parapet of a trench
ОтветитьIf only the French had invented the belt ;)
Ответитьi heard that the Chauchat was best used tucked under the arm, using the bipod as a crappy angled front grip of sorts, it often being called awkwardly long and with a poorly placed grip but rapid firepower was its strongpoint
ОтветитьNothing weird about dressing up as a lumberjack
