Very cool locomotive, just subbed too! This PRLX SD70MAC reflects its Burlington Northern heritage well, hence the reason for the road number being located on the long hood section of the locomotive as it was a common practice in the Burlington Northern era for the numbers to be placed on the long hood section. Interesting bit of history on these former BN MACs was that they were nicknamed "Grinsteins" after BN's final president Gerald Grinstein and the scheme carried over into the first year or so following the Santa Fe merger that created the current BNSF Railway. There are still some of these locomotives bearing this scheme on BNSF's roster although most have been either stored, retired, rebuilt and repainted, or, as this model represents, sold to leasing companies or smaller railroads.
ОтветитьNice review. Excellent model.
