This is why I love your channel you are a wise man. Sibs are where it is at I am lucky Tampa and Orlando FL both have stores that pick great barrels. I have over 70 amazing picks that cost 50 to 80 bucks and beat most bottles allocated or not. So great to be able to try before you buy.

Great review, BB! I think part of MGP's issue is that they put zero effort into developing or marketing their own brands until the last couple years. Now, they are playing catchup, but they have all these long-term contracts in place to sell barrels to brokers or NDPs that they have to honor. So they are forced into selling their best stuff because they signed the contract to do so 5-10 years ago.

It's Beyonce's new whiskey. It's a rye so should be right up your alley. A lot of the channels are doing it right now. Most reviews I've seen say it's "strong but smooth."

I will probably sit this allocation season out for the first time in a good while. The prices for the limited stuff are just out of control!

Love the video Bill. Random Question/Video Idea - I saw your Remus 2021 is at a low fill level. I’m curious your thoughts on how bottles change as they’ve been opened for 1 year, 2 years, etc. I see comments and posts online that suggest bottles will change for the worse if they’ve been opened for a while and have a low fill level. Could be neat to see a video where you discuss this and share your experiences.

MGP sales model gets around the higher tax burden they would face selling the higher proof, higher aged juice under their own label (my guess). If I'm right, they make their money on a thin margin with high volume, like a grocery store chain. Plus, their business model must help keep their overhead costs low enough to say, "Why break what ain't broke"? 😁
