Its a shame the actor who played Mr Turnip left him and Betty made a really nice couple - He was married to the actress who played Nellie Harvey - maybe she didnt like how good him and Betty looked together and made him quit

You dont see many women wearing headsquares now - Even most of the old Grannies would rather freeze or get their hair soaked rather than seem old fashioned - Same with men wearing those little girly socks that dont even cover your ankles even in the snow - Daft if you ask me

I always found the character of Claggie Meg a bit depressing - A good actress though

Elsies imbicile niece and nephew are a bit hard going at times

I've always wanted to watch this show. :) Thanks for putting all these episodes together. It makes a lot more sense to watch this way than to catch the episodes as I find them on YT.

This is proper coronation street. Great writing and brilliant actor's and gritty realistic characters. I stopped watching the modern series over ten years ago.

There's a lot of fluffing of lines. Elsie never gets through a scene without multiple fluffs. And why do Ray and Ken overact so much. You'd think they were performing Shakespeare .

I cant be doing with all the Miss Nugent stuff

Would have watched many episodes in my nans then.
It was the highlight of the night, dare anyone call or ring at the time program on, in any household.. if anyone’s visiting all stayed quiet,all interested anyway, it was talked about. Most or all I watched with passed on now,all a bygone era now,revered ,coronation street was, here in Ireland.
