You know, the science is cool and all, but what I'm really here for are the MFIN JOJO REFERENCES. ORAORAORAORAORAORA STANDO POWAH
ОтветитьYou used Nelson Mandela as an example, and I doubt you even know about, the current dystopian nightmare, that is post-apartheid South Africa.
ОтветитьI was once a proud "Dyed in the Wool" Democrat.
My grandma raised me to vote party line and I was proud to vote for Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and every local, state, and federal candidate with a (D).
The general state of the union got me paying attention and now everybody who I once thought was an intelligent and rational person in my life is shunning me for asking questions.

ОтветитьI don’t mind people disagreeing with me hell I’ve come to expect it all my life
what rubbed me the wrong way when people have reached their options through lack of knowledge common sense or any kind of self reflection or your just being a sheep just spouting something to fit in
I would rather ask someone what their reasoning is behind a position, rather than what that position is. For one thing, I might be able to show them the flaw in their logic, or how they might have some cognitive dissonance, at which time I would tell them that, while my position might still be wrong, they might want to square their reasoning and logic with their stance, because it weakens their position to base it on a flawed premise. Plus, if we can agree on a value, our position on a topic is irrelevant to our relationship. In other words, I don't have to agree with my sister about abortion, (she's pro-abortion, but views it as a negative and actively works to fund crisis pregnancy centers, while I am more of a hard-line pro-lifer who promotes and endorses my sister's efforts), as long as we share a common value. If our values were out of alignment, I would have a hard time even engaging my sister on other topics because that underlying value would also, unless she is suffering from cognitive dissonance, color her position and lead to further disagreement.
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьDebating went from arguing and learning to a spat competition, noone is allowed to accept a counter argument or they lose clout trophies
ОтветитьIt didn’t surprise me that when peoples argument is emotional, the person arguing also becomes emotional. If your inherent idea and number one way to convince me of something is a highly emotional take, it (to me) immediately precludes any ration or logical disagreement. If you give me emotion, I’m certain emotion is the only thing you perceive and adhere to
ОтветитьBefore watching this, I am going to say, public debates are not about winning over your opponent, but the audience.
Sadly, this also means that if someone in the audience is entrenched, they cannot be changed. It is about the people in the middle.
Hey hey Aydin
ОтветитьEmma was the bias bad faith debater because she agreed to debate Shawn on crime rates and ignored Shawn and just called Tim a nazi
Ответитьi'm taking my Pinto, my cat, a bunch or tarp, tools, and a cache of money and leave modernity behind in April. i cannnot stand the modrn world anymore. i'm gonna drive east from France and let teh dice fall where it may.
ОтветитьUpvoted on the Sseth cameo.
ОтветитьThis study really speaks volumes to the degeneracy of modern discourse. It's pathetic.
ОтветитьIt doesn't really make sense to debate someone who doesn't have the same goal in mind. Except for entertainment purposes of course.
ОтветитьWas not expecting the Brandon haerrara clip that got me love that guy!
ОтветитьHas anyone done a survey like this?:
Question 1: Tim Pool is an idiot - agree or disagree.
Question 2: I am a
A) Liberal
B) Conservative.
Pool: "Why are you okay with porn being shown to children? . . . Look, if you want to play a game of making nonsense statements for political brownie points, feel free to do so."
Tim Pool characterizes "Gender Queer" as "porn."* Was that him making a "nonsense statement"?
*PS - it isn't. Although says/hints multiple times that it is.
-
"Why is Emma Vigiland inspiring mass shooters" - this is reference to
"The podcaster Tim Pool, a former Occupy Wall Street supporter and Vice News reporter, was among those mentioned several times in [Mauricio Garcia]'s posts."
You've got me hooked on your videos! 😂❤
ОтветитьI actually don’t know how to talk to political minded people because I don’t participate in the voting system. I’m really confused about the whole process.
ОтветитьThank you... This explains a lot.
I asked a "friend" on FB why she believed Christine Blasy Ford over Bret Kavanah, and she cursed me out and blocked me.
I sincerely wanted to know her rationale. Now I know.
Is it a stereotype if it's true?
ОтветитьSo it sounds like debates are pointless. If you already are on one side of the debate you're not likely to change your mind from watching or being in a debate
ОтветитьSeems like the audience once again misses the point of the video. It's a bipartisan video to show how watching a debate makes a person more partisan towards their preconceived notions and these top comments are about how Emma was disingenuous... if you already disagreed with her before this video what's the point of this video if it just reinforced your beliefs
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьDebates are meaningless because you now have a large section of the population that believes in a philosophy that rejects the notion of objectivity...this is why that part of the population has to force that ideology on others rather than debate it; ie, you can't debate a subjective topic.
ОтветитьTim Pool is a grifter. I have watched his business grow. Telling me that I am judging him from some unconscious emotional reason looks a little like gaslighting to me. He is transparent as f**k.
ОтветитьOr one side is in fact right and the other is either delusional or a sell out.
Ответитьyeah "stereotypes" exist BECAUSE stereotypes EXIST. BOTH "sides" (HA!) ARE scuzfuxscum.
Ответитьsocialism=DOES NOT EXIST socialism=crapitalism
FAKE "communism"=more crapitalism...
REAL COMMUNISM=HAS NEVER HEEN TRIED. (probably wont work outside the current dunbar number because "people" are generally lazy, greedy, and stupid)
I have changed my mind overtime. Not because of one debate. But thanks to listening to debates. Soo they were immportant for me.
ОтветитьA year ago there was an English prof that made a video with the same topic, but she made an appeal for feelings, rather than arguing the two sides and explaining how one often wins over the other. She just said because feelings cause harm, we have to taylor facts to conform to feelings, because feelings from our reality. You can still interpret it as why ppl choose feelings over facts, but after 20 minutes in she's actively making a case for feelings.
ОтветитьThe rhing about ppl like emma is when they say they arent for censorship of ant kind, they will still agree that with a schools policy to ban the n word, for students on school grounds. So no there is no absolute no censorship policy from her or anyone wlse for that matter, but rarely do these extreme examples come up, and on the rare cases they do someone often deflects with "why do you want kids saying the n word?" Destiny did rhat when talking about trans kids, i stead of answering the question for why do we bam kids from smoking and drinking because they arent mature enough, destiny asked "why are you obsessed with kids genitles?" He just refused ro andwer and changed the nature of the conversation so he wpuldnt have to agree that that there is a problem with his position and logic.
ОтветитьI still find it funny that the word "liberal" is used to describe the party usually for increased government involvement. The concept of being "libertarian" aka liberal was introduced to me as one who is for a decrease in government involvement aka minimal government on federal levels and increased individual responsibility.
ОтветитьI lost a friend from a political debate. And this video hits hard.
ОтветитьIs it just me or does Aydin sound kinda off this vid
ОтветитьI support Trump because I've arrived at that support through rationale and logic. I know people who agree with me and I consider them to be rational.
But I also know a bunch of Trump supporters who are probably what you picture when I say "Trump supporters". People who can't criticize him on anything, or worse yet, those who deify him, scare me.
I liked 2 dollar gasoline and no wars. There's plenty to hate about the guy but I don't think I'm irrational
I'm so confused when someone says a debater "destroyed" their opponent and when I listen to the debate I'm like "No? They didn't address anything they said/moved the goalpost."
ОтветитьIt's almost as though MOST PEOPLE ARE TOO STUPID TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE, ON PRINCIPLE, WHAT POLICIES ALIGN TO THEIR OWN, AND ENTIRELY REVERT TO TRIBALISM FOR ALL OF THEIR OPINION.
ОтветитьUgh. TJ has gone so fucking far down the crazy pit, I wish he was just the "amazing atheist" again.
ОтветитьI think the fact that Emma called a mixed race skater from Chicago a Nazi is a pretty objective indicator that she’s a cultist and her fans’ brains don’t work. 😂
ОтветитьEleven month later, we finally had a debate that mattered.
ОтветитьThe average person believes what the people in power wants them to believe. So what im saying is; seize the means of intellect.
ОтветитьI find this quite enlightening.
