He played a great villain in the Virginian episode. The Drifter.
ОтветитьThis was a great one Rob. I've always enjoyed Michael Forest and he seems like a really nice guy. He definitely should have been a bigger star!
ОтветитьRob nailed when he mentioned what a versatile actor Michael is. Topping off the show, is Clint Walker, whose birthday I share. All these fantastic Role Models for kids, need to be revived today. 👍👍3🏆 10⭐
ОтветитьWonderful interview ❤
ОтветитьI never knew Michaels name, I’m sad to say, but I fully recognize him from the Star Trek episode. Thank you for this. I just saw I was born the day after Clint Walkers birthday…kind of makes up for being born on Clint Eastwoods birthday.
Ответить🤠👍 WOW! Thanks Rob! I loved this!
ОтветитьAs usual this was a wonderful interview with an actor who was known for his work on TV. I remember him from the western shows he was in. Cheyenne was a favorite of mine. I always felt that Clint Walker was underrated and under appreciated actor. I suppose Michael Forest could fall in that category as well. Great work Rob. All you do to keep westerns and the legacy of the western movies and TV shows alive is greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьFine interview with an engaging man and actor. He's so right about the quality of those Star Trek Original Series scripts. In his episode, some of the issues involved : mankind in relation to the supernatural, historical memory, technological advancement, destiny, mankind alone in the universe. All of this credibly addressed in a 50 minute dramatization! The beauty of good writing and acting is that it engages you, even when you may differ with the worldview. Mr. Forest did a splendid job.
ОтветитьThat was a nice "sit down." Thanks Rob!
ОтветитьGrowing up by watching so many different movies than later on TV show.
What's great this event talk and answer questions?
Rob is a Master of Interviewing !
ОтветитьI am so glad that I have watched this interview because the main TV show that I remembered Michael being in, was the Star Trek. And that performance made him appear that he was an egotistical snob. This interview introduced me to the real actor, the real man. And that man is full of humility and seems to be very down to earth. It completely changed my mind about Michael as a person.
ОтветитьVery entertaining interview. He is a true professional, from theater to TV and to movies . Not to mention you finished well with his classic Star Trek role , Rob sir.
ОтветитьSo nice to see he's doing well I have. signed Photo from star trek and It's one of my treasured things
ОтветитьWhat a lovely person ... AND, though he denied it ... a great actor. His performance as Apollo remains one of the most tragic, powerful, and riveting roles in television and film. How did they get an ancient god to show up on the Star Trek set? I don't know, but it seems that's just what happened.
ОтветитьVery nice segment, Rob... I always liked Michael and remember seeing him often. He always seemed to be credible in his roles.... Thanks for the memories.
Russ
Thanks Rob - another great interview
ОтветитьMichael's role of Apollo was very sympathetic. Even as a kid I felt very sad for him as he was defeated. His performance made this episode very special..thank you for this interview.
ОтветитьSo great to see Michael Forest! a real class act ! Rob's knowledge and enthusiasm helps to make these interviews so wonderful.
ОтветитьThank you for yet another interesting and informative interview!!
ОтветитьGreat show!
ОтветитьI loved Cheyenne and Have Gun will Travel as a kid.
Never got into Gunsmoke until older.
I had the pleasure of working with Clint Walker, in the TV series, Sweating Bullets. I was the Set Nurse. He was a very nice man, gentleman, and great actor. RIP
ОтветитьWell done, sir!
ОтветитьMichael Forest was in so many movies & did a great job in all of them. He was & still is a great-looking guy! Clint Walker is one of my all-time favorites, so I enjoyed Michael's story about him. So entertaining! Thank you, Rob.
ОтветитьAnother fantastic show
ОтветитьI remember that episode of Star Trek when it first aired in the 60's I never missed Star Trek ... I kept trying to remember who that guy was I assumed he was a famous guest star actor but just couldn't place him ... 60 odd years later ...
Ответить🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
ОтветитьMichael Forest is 94.
ОтветитьGreat interview Rob!! You are so knowledgeable.
ОтветитьMost excellent interview and gives this great supporting actor the recognition he deserves. Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat show rob..what a wonderful lady jan is..
ОтветитьGreat oral history. Thank you.
ОтветитьHe's the guy who you recognize but whose name escapes you.
ОтветитьStrong, sharp actor - good to see him again.
ОтветитьRob....You did such a top noch job with Michael Forest Genuine....honest....Thank you so very much
Dan
I think I’ve become hooked on A Word On Westerns. Great memories and very well done.
ОтветитьSeared into my 7 year old brain was Cheyenne's duel to the death with Michael Forrest playing an Indian. As a kid, I never knew who played the Indian but when I finally saw the episode again 50 years later featuring an Indian with the same build as Cheyenne, I knew this was going to be the one. His demise wasn't as traumatic this time, knowing he didn't really get killed. And by this time I knew who Michael Forest was after seeing him in a bunch of westerns.
ОтветитьSo cool. I remember him in those shows! I come from near Harvey ND so extra special for me.
ОтветитьGreat interview…Michael is such a humble guy! 🤠👍
ОтветитьMy favorite western series is, Gunsmoke. James Arness was the best. I'm almost 75 and still watch the program whenever it's on. I have great memories of watching the show with my dad back in the early 60's.
ОтветитьThe question should be what wasn't he in. I remember seeing that handsome face in so many things back in the 60s. Thanks Rob for doing this interview. Brought back a lot of memories.
ОтветитьHappy Birthday Michael for the 17th April.. Hope you are doing well. 🎉🎂🍰
ОтветитьParticularly in that industry. What a rare humble, modest guy. Looks like he kept himself up pretty well, too.
ОтветитьThere's a Storyline for a new Picard show or Star Trek series .
ОтветитьDear Mr. Word: You misspelled the word Travel. You spelled it “Tavel.”
ОтветитьLooks amazing for a man his age. He was strong looking during his time on screen
ОтветитьRob, thanks for another great interview. Michael Forest got to reprise the part of Apollo on the first episode of Star Trek Continues with Vic Mignogna a fan made series. I think one of the best. As fan made series go. 👍
