Why do people hate whales? an Undecember discussion

Talking trash about whales is almost cliché at this point. Lol but I believe it could be various reasons people do it. Jealousy, anger, resentment, as well as trolling, or just general trash talk. A group to hate, blame.... Excuses

I don't mind whales, they indeed keep the game running.. The only 2 things i slightly dislike is how they are selling stuff for prices on the market that most of the playerbase can't really afford and how content such as higher tiers of the eunos dungeon gets centered around whales....

Oh and before i forget, the one thing that i can't accept is how some of the top players are selling rubies outside of the game for actual cash.. There's a top 5 player on the Europe server here that got exposed for doing that... Selling rubies outside of the game for actual cash should 100% result in a ban..

Other than that, couldn't care less about whales..

Despite a few quality of life things to buy, this game is x10 more f2p friendly than so many others, 99% of everything can be attained with just playing, so many resources from dice games etc...

I don't think most people hate whales, even if that is what they complain about. I hate capitalism. I want to buy the game, play it offline, have all the tabs and cosmetics and content and just play it at my own pace.

And that would pay the bills, as it had for decades. But you know what? They can make MORE money doing it f2p with whales and horse armor. Screw that. Paying with your wallet is also a lie if you understand the nuances of the market we're in.

So I'm stuck playing the game as it is. And then watching some company shut down another "live service" game because it didn't make ENOUGH PROFIT to be worthwhile. barf.

But yes, like in warframe, where paying skips farming, I call it "pay not to play". Funny thing, I have literally seen people who spent over 1000+ on power complain about the people who spent 20k+... and I have seen people who spent 20k+ complain about card swipers. There is always a bigger fish. You will never personally mentally win with a negative attitude.

Other than my personal dislike of the monetisation model and how it robs me of game I could have enjoyed (and used to) but is now priced out of my reach, I also don't like how psychologically the game is engineered to pray and take advantage of specific people. Yes some people have self control and they just want to pay. They don't have time to grind one part and want to pay to get to the part they enjoy. But some people don't have self control, and often this is what the system is meant to take advantage of. It's a drug dealer, not a store. And that's awful.

Whales keep the prices of the microtransactions (macro) very high. No whales=realistic prices

they need to fix legacy charms, make new one same or better whit some grind on it, this will bi fix problem

Only rime I hated whales qas diablo immortal. The players were just as toxic as blizzard was. Wouldn't mind seeing dueling available in undecber tho. Would be fun

Whales are trash there are no hate but just shouldn’t exist in the game like this only cosmetics for like pay more for better looking is far enough to keep game alive look at POE is there any whales for keeping game alive? as long as your game has a great endgame loop contents which undecember doing really good right now then why the fuck would whales exist on leaderboards.
