my rescue gcc, Joey, grabs one of her tail feathers with her foot and uses it to scratch her head. I've been using capturing to capture the moment she holds the end of the feather on her head like a hat. ill say "wheres your hat?" and I've gotten her to do it on command once already! thank you so much!

I would love to see a free download of a chop recipe because I always feel like I doing stuff wrong or that I could do something better or different. It’s. Even tough lately so I haven’t been able to buy your cool books.

I just got a four-year-old Amazon parrot my 1st baby, I'm so glad I came across your videos very grateful I've had him for 4 days I've been bit twice, Where both learning each other he knows more than I do.. His super super smart and a lot of fun, It seems he only chooses to bite during step up so we're working on this. He flies over to me And loves to be on my shoulder By your videos have been a saving grace I feel like I have some good direction and a bright future with this guy, hes super smart ..

One of my linnies does a super cute move when she polishies her feathers just below the beak. How can I capture that? She looks like she ’s imitating a seahorse when doing that 😁

I inherited two parrots, a Senegal parrot and a sun conure, I’ve learned a lot from these your videos, thank you very much!!!
Story of my Senegal parrot: he was hatched est. 1983 and he had three previous owners (including my grandfather of whom I inherited the birds from) the second owner mistreated him and now he was scared of people, but I’ve gotten him calmed down and is now OK with being around people, he still attempts to bite people but still making progress!
Story of my sun conure: hatched est. 1998 She is very calm, very vocal too, but we can’t seem to get her to step up, always bites, but as I said making progress, only two other owners (including my grandfather) anyways, thank you very very much for your videos and as always, stay awesome!! :)

A resource on cage do’s and don’t would be nice.

For example I prefer not to use grates with my birds and I have a glass cage that I switched to that works great n my birds love

Hey girlie,, question have you ever had to deal with bird mites since I have got them before from my old bird and it was such an horrible experience. I have a major fear now even tho I’m getting a new bird and I just want to know if you have had them and if so how did you deal with them !

My cockatiel has always naturally waved when I come in and he's trying to get my attention. As soon as I try putting it on cue with a treat he acts all confused and rarely does it 😆🤦‍♀️

I just got a couple of Lori's and I used this video to train them to 'boop' my nose. Since the female tried to play with my glasses she often accidentally touched my nose. So I used that. Now both of them can boop our noses on cue.

Capturing is awesome! I captured the wave, shake, show me wings and rollover all during our daily playtime sessions on the bed. Had clicker in one hand and playing with him with the other. Super fast responses. Ie.. he playfully put hand on my finger, I clicked and rewarded. Put my finger BK in front of him.. he did it again. Bam, the shake was born. 3min..

Most of my training is done with capturing with Rocky the Alexandrine parakeet. I have trained him to whistle when I say whistle it off and to make a galah noise that he already made when I say cocky boy as well as to make a kiss noise when I say give me a kiss and a few other little things. It tends to work better for me than the other things because I use words rather than visual aids like with most of the other formal training.

I have also trained Rocky to toilet on command when I say the word toilet. It is very handy if we are out somewhere because he does not like wearing a suit.

My timid petstore budgie has just LOVED this training method its been grueling just trying to get him up on my hand everyday and he never really enjoys those sessions but with capturing hes the most involved ive ever seen him i started off with something simple head bopping and within HOURS he was leaning into the begging phase i think hes really enjoying being rewarded for his favourite behaviors even if he doesnt quite understand why yet thankyou so much

So my 13 week old Alexandrine parrot has had the "Yoga pose" (standing on one foot with the other foot stuck back and both wings out) captured from day one when he did it in his cage and I went "woo" . Also the wings up. He has moved to the begging stage with both which is great BUT he isn't relaxed when out and about. I have had him 5 days and he isn't cuddly or adaptable when held like baby birds are reported to be. So I tried to "hang" with him outside of his cage like Jamie does and reward him for relaxed behaviour with the clicker and treat. However all he wanted to do was yoga pose and wings up (as this is the first time he has been food rewarded for it. Should the next time I ignore the yoga and wings up move and just reward for calm behaviour? Or will that deter him with the trucks he has already learnt
