While I don't disagree with your takes, I find it odd that you omitted the Riders and racing series where she played a prominent role in the games.

Honestly, i think the heroes personality made sense for the time. She finally was on par with sonic, power wise and confidence wise, so her obsession with him naturally came back with a vengeance, and is something she slowly works on overcoming, learning physical boundaries around 06 to generations, i count the new version as the cannon one mostly because it lines up better and is closer to the Japanese original one, so it makes more sense. This then naturally leads into the post generations amy, who's developing a personality beyond liking sonic and her previous life before gaining such strength, expanding on her empathy and genuine enjoyment of adventuring.

I think Ross from Game Dungeon made a good point about Amy in Sonic Heroes -

She has coerced Big the Cat into being her personal enforcer in order to force Sonic into a shotgun wedding. Sonic Heroes is peak crazy Amy.

I personally would knock Adventure 2 Amy down to Sidekick Caliber. All the moments you mentioned definitely are important and prove how capable she is but on the flipside… Tails has to bail her out of Eggman twice, and the second time leads to Sonic getting flung into space. So while she’s a valuable member of the team, she’s also a bit of a liability.

On Amy in Sonic Adventure 2:

Amy's only purpose in Sonic Adventure 2 is to be a liability, with the only two actually important things she does, getting Sonic out of his cell and convincing Shadow to switch sides at the end, having been fully capable of being done better by characters already in the game, in Tails for the former and Rogue for the latter, which also could have given those characters better showings themselves and not started a drop off for Amy's character from Adventure one that only got remedied as recently as Sonic Frontiers and Superstars.

Ie, she didn't really need to be there and it actually didn't really do much for her character, especially since she doesn't even really ever have any substantial meetings with Shadow after this game despite being the very person who convinced him to switch sides in the first place.

Yes, I am absolutely arguing that she should be in useless tier and not Elite, especially given that Tails didn't get an Elite Tier in SA2 explicitly because of a situation caused by Amy being kidnapped in the first place.

At least Origins+ makes her retroactively useful in the Classic Era, as does Superstars.

You can legit keep your opponent from advancing pass the start 😂 I know this from only ever choosing her against my buddies 😈😈😈 So I’d say she’s more god tier there.

Lol My friend is a massive Amy fan, and she hates her in Sonic Rush. She tends to like more toxic portrayals of her character like in Sonic Free Riders, so you can tell Amy was pretty bad.
