Everyone was amazing, the horn arrangements and Lernell Lewis, and how he make it look so easy!
ОтветитьThis is an excellent doc of the process!! I've always only seen the part of the process that takes place in the recording space, so seeing the rehearsal days before that was fascinating. Well done! Let's do another one soon, ya?
Ответитьwow. what an amazing video. i absolutely adore you guys and this album and it’s so inspiring and great to see into the process of it. i love the sound of your saxophone alone in a quiet room. such an incredibly talented musician, and videographer!!
ОтветитьIs there sight reading sir or charts given? Yall super humans hahaha
ОтветитьPure gold, this. Being in a related field, I’ve seen what goes behind the scenes (albeit at a much smaller scale) and it’s absolutely insane how all of you pull this off! The new album sounds amazing, congratulations to all of you! Eagerly waiting for Snarky Puppy to come to India!
ОтветитьDon´t stop doing this, Bob: letting us take part in what so many of us aspire to do- awesome!! Thank you for sharing.
Ответитьthis is kinda mindblowing, really. to learn all these tunes in such a short period of time. amazing. i gotta wonder why you aren't using score view in logic instead of the piano roll. seems like it would make figuring stuff out a hell of a lot easier!
ОтветитьOnly Snarky Puppy can do this, it's actually a miracle that this is possible
ОтветитьWhy was deadline just 5 days? Interesting
ОтветитьYinz ever think that people that can play music proficiently, that they are a whole different breed of human??

ОтветитьWe need more vlogs!!!
ОтветитьI legit watch this on a weekly basis. Y’all are my personal avengers ❤
ОтветитьI don't understand why you work under such stress and time constrain? Is that purposeful?
ОтветитьAs an amateur musician I wonder what it must be like to have the skills that everyone in this band possesses. Does it feel like you can do anything at any time just by envisioning it?
ОтветитьThis is so cool, thanks for sharing this Bob!!
Ответить16 new songs in 5 days it's crazy, I hear this album every single day, I love you guys
Ответитьnice submariner and BB58...
ОтветитьMonumental work! Thank y’all for amazing music…. Lot’s of ❤❤❤❤and respect!
ОтветитьWhen I'm learning a new song I do it in 15-20 min tranches with breaks of similar duration or more. It's to do with how your memory "plasticises" & becomes volatile before "setting". If you do prolonged hours of memorizing your memory never gets a chance to "set" until the very end. Try this method (if not already used) and see if it works for you. I'd be interested to get more empirical data on this.
ОтветитьThanks for posting this, awesome stuff!
ОтветитьAs a (former) horn player, I find this process fascinating, because I still assume that the experience of not having sheet music impacts the horn line more than anybody else -- since the non-solo portions have to be played as an ensemble, and have to be tight. This is true for everybody in a way, but more true for the horn players than anybody else, I assume.
It seems that the music was NEVER written down, which makes it harder to play initially, but easier to memorize. Because if you never get ON book, you never have to force yourself to get OFF book. Is that the reason for the lack of sheet music? Or is it just because it's easier when you're writing to not have to make any charts?
Also, the compressed schedule... is it really because of a genuine time crunch that you can't get the music weeks in advance? Or is it because you guys enjoy the grind of that week, and the satisfaction of knowing that it makes you all bad-asses in the studio, and you can take that bad-assery into any other studio session?
Love to confirm you are human! 🤟🏽😎🎶
ОтветитьMy ultimate dream is to be in that room during the recording
ОтветитьIf Snarky Puppy could get a collective PhD in performing arts, this album would be their dissertation paper.
Ответитьman, Bob: thanks for this and thanks again for your crazy great solos on the album^^
ОтветитьIm getting an anxiety attack just watching this video 😂 you guys are world class professional musicians but that much pressure on that kind of schedule… 🤢
ОтветитьThe studio yall recorded in gives of major Texas Roadhouse vibes
ОтветитьMy partner and I are from Chicago and were at one of the sessions! It was absolutely incredible. Actually got to meet you and a few of the other guys. What a treat. Just got tickets to the upcoming Metropole Orkest date this coming January 2025. Really hoping everyone's back on that date. Thank you so much. Cheers!
ОтветитьThe algorithm waited way too much on sending me this channel...
