The main reason why China's development is far ahead of India lies in the considerable gap in political wisdom between the leaders of the two countries. Two simple examples can show this:

You guys talked about tsmc, my country's role model enterprise, that should be the second step though, because: 1) it takes much longer time to develop, with much higher risks; 2) high tech manufacturing can take care of only small percentage of employment. India's vast population needs immediate jobs to improve their lives.

China just focus on their own business and move on year after year. I suggest this so-called China expert stay true to himself, put his ego away, and his fellow country politicians should start focusing on working on their own issues. He also mentioned that there is a desperately inefficient public transport system in India, but at least there is freedom of speech, unlike in China. Really? To be honest, the Chinese people in China have lots of freedom to express themselves. The government even has local councils set up in each regions and their main function is to let the people in the region tell their government what needs to be improved. China is 20 years ahead of India interns of GDP including per capita.But 20 years is not a big gap in terms of civilizational states .So India will catch up mostly and may surpass also as China is a fragile society(bad emperor problem , less civil liberties and non religious life style)while India has long shelf life which is evident how it survived various invasion and colonial rule.We have to wait and see though.

Most India “expert” will only talking about the “China” after Year 2001, when China joined WTO, coz that seems to be experiences India can imitate, ie what Indians can generally understand. Very few would talk about the “China” from 1978 to 2000, coz the achievements in these period were tough for most developing counties. For example, many countries collapsed in color revolutions. Almost no Indian talks about the “China” from 1949 to 1978, coz the only few who understand the achievements China had in that period also know these are missions impossible for India in the inner and international situations now.
