Icelandic Weather in January 2020 - Avalanche Sink 6 boats After Snowstorm

Strange things are happening now that the sun has gone cold/dormant.

Fortunately the Icelanders have learned from past lesson and this wil not be a exception.

Visited Dynjandi waterfall in the spring and thought that the truck was going to be blown off the switchbacks after the weather turned, with ice snow and gale winds. Was an amazing trip that ended in an E ticket ride. Looks like you are in for another storm stay safe. Glad no one was killed and hope the fishing vessels can be raised.

Wow. It came all the way across the water and still destroyed a lot of boats and ships. That's terrifying.

I was in Flateyri when this happened visiting family friends. Then all of a sudden the avalanche started. Luckily the restaurant was unscathed and helicopters came in with supplies the road and harbour were completely blocked. But I think that the saddest thing is that these 25 years of security and healing were destroyed. After most boats sunk the fishing industry in Flateyri was destroyed now it's just a tourist town.
