It appears that the hyena was there to check if there something to scavenge on. When it saw that there was nothing that the badger was eating, it left.

If the engine was switched off we and hyena could have heard the motorised growls of HB . The hyena took few seconds later to notice it, realise its mistake , said sorry to HB and after that it just has to walk away !!

man i dont know how small stuff survives in Africa. this badger was lucky it was only 1 hyena, if there were like 3 or 4 they'd probably have taken him. maybe it's because all i see are highlight kills on small animals and babies that everything there targets but it just seems like it's a miracle small animals and babies survive there.
