A musical trip to Pre-war Blackpool No. 1 - Will Hurst's Band.
Will Hurst made five records from his one and only recording session in 1927. He was resident bandleader at the imposing but sadly long gone "Palace", which was next door to Blackpool Tower.
Of the five records produced by Parlophone, two turn up from time to time, "Wottle" backed by "Do you recall" and "Drifting and dreaming"/ "When lights are low in Cairo". This record is rare and unlike the other two was not on You tube hitherto. This upload provides an opportunity to hear an alternative recording of this provincial band.
Vocal chorus by Maurice Elwin (here credited as John Curtis)
Recorded c. April 1927
