Oh, fuck off. Trump won, get over yourselves.
ОтветитьAre you guys going to be doing a best and worst of 2016?
ОтветитьI would say the only problem with this movie is the end, it doesn't make any sense for me! why did mia had to marry that man? I can imagine alot of ways to end this movie and they are all better than this. However, I have to admit that the montagu of the end is awesome and over all La La land is definitely the best movie in 2016.
Ответитьi love the fanfare that christy gives Alonso
ОтветитьI have to see it a second time. But the closest theatre that shows it is 40 minutes away and I'm only 14.
ОтветитьGreat film!
ОтветитьWow, since when did Matt lose so much weight? He looks so much younger! omg
ОтветитьI don't like musicals and this one did not make me change my mind, actually walked out halfway. It is cheesy af, the songs are meh, the dancing meh, the (love) story isn't appealing.
ОтветитьI can't stand that woman
Ответитьno analysis necessary . this movie makes us feel good. we need that now.
ОтветитьI'm still crying from this movie
ОтветитьI adored this movie
ОтветитьOh look, a movie Alonso actually likes
ОтветитьI love the movie but I can't express how much it means to hear someone actually mention about Ryan goslings singing and how the dance doesn't hold a candle to gene Kelleys dancing .
ОтветитьOne of the things I loved about the movie was the complete lack of partisan commentary-- so many movies are punctured by political sniping. This review sure was, at least for me.
ОтветитьFuck, when did Matt shave his beard? He looks like a serial killer.
ОтветитьLa La is over rated. Goslings piano playing was brilliant. But the film just seemed to be trying to hard. This film needs more editing.
ОтветитьI think for nitpicking the idea behind not having the greatest singer/dancer is to show the other side of the picture that they're not the best at what they do and they are just human like everybody.
ОтветитьBest movie I ever saw
ОтветитьI haven't been much of a musical person in my adult life, but the fact I ended the year with Sing Street and La La Land, I don't think I can say that anymore. Sing Street has fantastic music from whatever genre and then is a fantastic comedy. if you haven't seen it, even if you hate musicals I'd watch it. La La Land just made me feel every emotion, the ending especially, I also I'm not into romance films but the chemistry of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone was captivating, believable and relatable in parts. I don't come From L.A., so I didn't really see the "love letter to L.A.", I seen it as a love letter to Classic Hollywood. It was littered with nods to classic movies and musicals. So it's enjoyable for people outside of L.A., because it's not solely about L.A., you don't need to love musicals, but you do need to not hate them to enjoy this film. whereas sing street doesn't feel like a musical, so you could watch it solely for the comedy aspect.
ОтветитьThanks Matt! There should always be someone who calls Alonso on his BS for every review he does. Far to often he gets caught up on small hang ups that dominate his overall position.
ОтветитьWe're musical lovers. The tune which we may have heard 4 or 5 times was un hummable as we left the theatre. There's some kool ade drinking here. The wife and I were thinking about walking out. The tunes were weak. Humm it for me please. The jazz purist - as a musician he's being a dick. What about Dixieland? Fusion? etc. We hoped for so much more. It was just crap.
ОтветитьI still think Moonlight will take best picture.
Ответитьcome on,christy.i know you know by now that alonso is 'that' guy.
Ответить"Don't be that guy". That's what reviewers should do you dipshit.
Ответитьwhat the fuck kind of review is this? calm down. Why are you guys are scared to say anything bad about this? I think this movie is amazing btw, but still you guys are reviewers. Try to be objective? You seem to live in LA and are totally being biased for the stupidest things. I mean I think this is one of the best movies of the year too, but the vocal melodies seem a bit derivative of Disney movies and others, and I did scratch my head at some very minor things in the story. Again, even then it's an amazing movie.
ОтветитьOn the whole, I like musicals. But this is trash!! So corny and poorly acted. Emma Stone is appalling and Gosling should stick to a genre that best suits his talents eg. Drive.
Hacksaw Ridge, now that's a proper movie! Watched it two nights ago. Andrew Garfield is incredible and Mel Gibson, although a little controversial, depicts an incredible true story.
I hate this movie. I can't think of a more over hyped movie.
ОтветитьBetween the mansplaining and white saviour critique, this movie has the most unfair criticism I've come seen since Zero Dark Thirty was wrongly accused of supporting torture
ОтветитьI really wanted to like this movie but I didn't. It was barely a musical. The lighting was weird. And neither one of them can really sing. The final scene was cool but that's about it.
Ответитьam I the only one that didn't like it :( I usually agree with their ratings but I'm not on board.
ОтветитьI loved everything about this movie. This movie gives me life. It will win best picture. Still screening Oscar movies but this one takes the cake.
ОтветитьLmfao, Trump won therefore La La Land won't win at the Oscars....where tf did that come from? I'm sorry has Trump declared war on musicals?
ОтветитьThis movie sucked!!!! Terrible movie!!! Ryan cant sing emma cant dance and sing!!!! No good dialogue!!! The same facking piano song comes back in the movie like 20 times. I think its one of the worst movies i have ever seen
ОтветитьThis movie is getting so much hate ..for all the wrong reasons
Ответитьthe ending is what actually ruined it for me to be able to say it's a perfect movie. So fucking great tho 4.5/5
Ответить"It was about sort of working class people and their kind of day to day existence." What?!
ОтветитьWhy did Alonso praise the "working class" element in this movie but bash it in Manchester?
ОтветитьI really liked this movie, but it was far from perfect. I liked the end, but the rest of the movie never got dark enough to make it as impactful as say the moment in 10 Years.
ОтветитьI keep meaning to watch this! Normally not a fan of musicals, but I have heard so much good about this!
Ответитьsnooze snooze land
ОтветитьMaybe it's because I have never been to LA or because I'm not super huge on musicals, but this one didn't do all that much for me. Well made though.
ОтветитьI wanted to love this movie. I really did. I think the cinematography is great, I love the color choices, the songs are wonderful and a delight. But the characters are just kinda there and I prefer when filmmakers take shots at or are at least self-deprecating of Hollywood and their profession; this was a little too self-important, borderline egotistical to me.
ОтветитьThis is by far the most overrated film of the last 10 years. And I usually LOOOOOVE Hollywood musicals. But this is just a shameless rip-off full of stolen ideas, whitewashing, a forgettable score, and two leads that cannot sing OR dance -,-
ОтветитьThey gushed over this movie, but completely trashed The Greatest Showman. I don't get it because both were so good.
ОтветитьYou guys suck, don't mention politics Christy
I will never watch your review again
My Mother and I frequently get into heated debates about whether Moonlight or La La Land is the superior film. I’m team La La Land
ОтветитьA+ 10/10 100/100
ОтветитьGot any ideas on how I can afford a private showing of "La La Land" on the big screen of a local theater?
Ответить
