I like how every anti-Wenger comment is getting voted down... I am a Pompey fan, and this was a horrible incident, but I do think 2 years would be ott. Maybe if they said 6 weeks or something, that would be legitimate

@Vrebips Because Arsenal are always under threat from referees and other teams. I don't know why, its not like we can't stop winning everything yet referees are always bias towards other teams which cost us.

@1r2a3i4t5t,,, are you dumb this happen in his 1st season at the club and was clearly doing alright, then that happen we will never know now just how great he would have coz that injury was a very very big set back and never really got his form back in time, but have a look at some of the goals he scored in the short time he had there and try tell me that he was not going be a big star for gooners had that injury not happen.

His comments here are extremely exaggerated and biased. If it was a Birmingham player who had his leg broken by an Arsenal player i guarantee you we would not be hearing the same kind of response. Yes it was a horrendous challenge but we see those kind of tackles a lot these days, albeit not with the same outcome as Eduardo's, look at McMannaman's more example. He didn't even get booked, let alone sent off.

Eduardo probably gets paid more and is given more game time now at Shakhtar than he ever was during his short stint will the Gunners. I would hardly call that a ruined career seeing as he's playing first team football at a top European club which gets further in the Champions league more often that not than Arsenal

dude career is much more about the money you earn.. and talking about getting to play more of champions' league, what if he had grown further at arsenal and then moved to a club like barca or rel madrid like those arsenal legends.. he was very young at the time of injury and had a lot in future for him..

EDUARDO! great player! ... after this terrible injury... he still had his
"killer" goal instinct ... just making these "easy looking" goals...
sadly we never seen him again at a great club... one of the most
underrated players ...would have been worth it to had played a great
league again.

It’s was a common trend whenever teams were facing us, “kick em’ out the park” was their strategy. A guy on stoke’s team back when ramsey got injured, confirmed that the atmosphere in dressing room was unlike anything he had ever seen leading up to the match - the players were extremely enraged and hostile.

That’s why I’m glad the english game is changing and dinosaurs like pulis are slowly getting eradicated with their 1850’s style of football, it’s tiring to see a bunch of lumberjacks who can hardly control a ball and only know how to run around for 90 mins like headless chickens and get “stuck in” they don’t belong in football.

He may have retracted his comments but he was right. So many pundits used to ramble on about the only way to stop Arsenal is to kicking Arsenal. It resulted in a series of some of the worst injuries in the clubs history that arguably defined the future on the club.

Arsene Wenger's attitude was appalling . Everytime one of his own players did something wrong he'd always go... "I didn't see it"
Yet when he saw when an opposition player did wrong to his he wanted them to be sacked from football.

It was a long time ago . But I still remember it . That has to be one of the worst tackles I have ever seen . And bear in mind , I am looking at it from a Birmingham perspective . I was at the game in the home section & had a good view of the incident . It make me feel sick when it happened . Dreadful .

Arsenal had so many technical players and they were good so they were tackled hard by these so called tough English players. Alex Ferguson was intimidating to the whole league hence his players were protected but Wenger’s complaining fell on deaf ears

I remember when this incident happened, there was a big debate on whether Taylor getting a red card was even the right decision. So many pundits said it was a fair but mistimed challenge and he should have not been sent off. And Arsenal coach and players condemning the foul in interviews afterwards was evidence of them both being soft and kicking them off the pitch tactics had worked.
