How come you didn’t have to spend money on student loans? This is the biggest expense I’m afraid will set me back. (I’m still in school currently) Also, did you have a gym membership? If so, how much was it?

Thanks for all your videos. Planning on applying for the auxiliar program in Madrid for 2021-2022. Do you think if I come with a few grand in savings and make money outside of the program I could live comfortably in a 1 bedroom around €500-€600? I know Madrid pays €1000 a month.

Great video... I am a Dental Hygienist from the states...looking to work abroad....possibly Spain. Can you recommend any agencies that help with job placement process? From what i have read there are a lot of scammers that claim job placement.

I’m planning on doing the auxiliar program in 2 years. But I’m a suuuuper big introvert and I would prefer to live in Madrid and have no roommates, but I know this is going to be expensive. If I did have roommates, I would prefer them not to expect me to hang out with them that often and leave me to stay in my room/explore around by myself, haha 😅

Hello Natasha,

Thank you very much for this extensive video - I learned a lot. I do only know Spain as a tourist;
Spanish was not offered during the time I went to school - instead, I suffered from Latin (mandatory) and learned French and Italian. Spaniards are very friendly people but as I hardly understood anything, the country wasn´t that interesting for me.
Spain isn´t quite a neighbour of Austria and (at least back then), Spanish was not taught everywhere and a few years later on, when I studied chemistry, I lacked the mental ressources to learn different skills. Besides, I neither knew that I wanted to leave my country at that time nor where I wanted to go and which language I needed.
I only know Benidorm as a major hub for mass tourism with lots of
medium-sized skyscrapers along the coast. Spain is the ideal location to learn Spanish in a very secure environment before even thinking of places like Colombia, especially when you are located in Central Europe. Both Spain and Austria are EU-members and it´s near enough to visit short-term. I don´t think there is a chance to get a job if you don´t speak Spanish.
In Europe, studying is not a financial threat like in the US. Fees are marginal. After graduating, I was exhausted and did some different work. I was just recently accepted at technical college (for a second master in Biotech), when Co*** hit just before important group assignings could take place. I´m also stuck at home and have become something like a „rogue senior student“. I tend to write (too) much, as this is my way of processing issues.
I will need a good preparation for not ending up in Ciudad Bolivar or as
an ELN-hostage

With kind regards,

Mathias
