Must say the Grain adding was better in the older one than the new one. In old one you could change the size and and how strong is it, also its kinda just digital Noise looking in the new one..

AMD cards do much better than Nvidia especially for frame rate increases. You should stick with those.

I'm surprised you're not using Nvidea's studio drivers. Nvidea has two driver sets for each card. One is for gaming and one is for productivity.

This is a beta they had people wait this long for this odd but the good thing is this shows how a video will look when rendered on the old ver cant do that its just guess work

I'm still waiting since last year for the program to use the cards to their full potential like with programs like DaVinci which I got and other programs

Its no reason it should take 1hr still for a 25min show from 480 to 720 with a monster 3070-3090 this should take like 20-30min

Its so frustrating having to wait to use our cards fully really frustrating....

i dont like the version3. Somehow its doubled time, 3m 42s on 3 and 2m on version 2 on a clip i used

I did these settings on a 1 minute video and it takes 10 minutes to render :/

this version is so much slower than 2.6.4 way way way slower and the presets are useless at least most of them... I mean .. what does 4k slow motion mean? how much slow motion ?

Biggest problem of Topaz is that its too slow. If they can fix that they will beat other apps. But now i prefer using cloud online for enhancing coz its much better and faster.

What are the best options for AI Model and Video Type for 4K60 rendering? Defaults are Chonos Fast, and Progressive.

Can someone explain the H265 modes to me that were added to Topaz Video AI? What is the best quality, is it h265 10 bit Intel?

What are the specs on your computer? I'm using a i7 laptop with 32gb ram and it would take me 8 minutes to render that preview of 5 seconds!

I'm no expert, nor do I want to be. 'm using this to restore decades old film, VHS, and miniDV video. It does a good job although I've found it better to use TMPG7 to do the deinterlacing and stabilization first, saving with original size using an intermediate codec (cineform). Moving to VAI, to clean and uprez my tests showed Artemis Medium/halo worked best. My biggest complaint is Topaz only offers that god awful ProRes as an intermediate to save. Doesn't work for shit on windows or Vegas or most players. Topaz does not restore the color and contrast that was and continues to be missing from the old video after processing. You need a good lossless intermediate to move your video on to whatever movie production software used for this purpose. You can buy any old converter for a few bucks with all these codec available but here you blow a couple hundred on VAI and get only ProRes. In fact when I asked them about adding Cineform they said they never heard of it.

so when i found out of topaz mid last year, i did read on reddit before buying that the render times were bad so i had posted when the program gets mutiple updates it should render way faster,i had said also that a monster 3080 should be getting render times as fast as for 480 to 720p 30mins max i expected that to take 2-3 years

my old render times were 1hr 30min with the old ver and now with new ver it now takes 40mins

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION - My experience with Topaz Video AI is PATHETIC. It takes 8 hours to stabilize 30 sec 1080P video (also crashes in middle). To upscale to 4K it is showing 18 hours which is unusable. I have latest version of Video AI bought in Jan 2023 influenced by like this. I have a powerful desktop with latest i10 processor Radeon GPU 64 GB RAM. I can process 2 GB astrophotographs in Photoshops easily. But Topaz Video AI is just UNUSABLE. I also use their other photo products (for 4+ years) and are very happy with that. But Video AI -??? I WILL ASK EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM IT. SAVE THE MONEY. Please note I asked Topaz about it and wrote to their forum but yet to get a response.

when i try to export a 30 second clip with the same presets you showed as a test, its taking approx 1hour to export, any idea why? It'll show it my downloads as a file with the name i chose but with 0 size .

New Topaz version is crap, everything is dumb and stupid and useless. I like the older version 2.6

Topaz Photo Ai new updates render much faster than previous. Topaz is best for offline apps but Gigapixel is quite slow on mid range laptops. So you will need gaming PC 💀 for faster result.

Artemis looks better for me too i found Proteus seems to smooth things out even more for me in my opinion and it looks fake. Artemis was able to keep the natural look of the original video but helped remove all the artifacts and sharpen it up a bit.

I might grab this software and give it a try. As things are, I have to shoot in 720p...so it'd be great to be able to upscale that footage

Topaz video free or paid?

I did the H265 Main MP4 conversion, it never worked this way because i get problem errors. I have no clue how this works

Here it is June 2023 and render times are decidedly quicker in all models. However, for those working on Macs, after one month or more Topaz Labs still have not fixed the dropping of end frames that occurs when rendering ProRes files.

Full frame stabilisation doesn't crop, it remembers the neighbouring frames to construct what otherwise would be a black area. quite advanced but processing intensive. Can make in-camera stabilized footage look like it was shot on an expensive tripod. It looks to me like it can recover around 10% movement of width or height frame to frame.

I’m on the demo version, deciding whether or not to drop $300 for the program.

To export, I run into this issue. “We couldn’t open ______, as we can’t get into your local storage right now. Wait a bit, than try again.

I am rendering four minutes of video right now, Upscaling it and adding frame rate. I’m using the older version, and although it is great for very short video, anything more usually becomes totally consuming of the computer for 24 hours or more and then, after all of that it is glitchy. Love it and absolutely hate it at the same time. And hardly ever even tried to use it. So far, it’s been a total waste of money. And no, my computer is not slow thank you.

Has anyone else noticed that It seems to render faster when you're actively using the PC as opposed to leaving it on overnight when it's idle? That's strange.

I have an AMD Ryzen 7 4700 and currently upscaling a 10 minute 1080p30fps video to 4K60fps using Proteus which will take a whole day and some change according to the estimated time.

I just recently started using this program and am not thrilled about the speed. Maybe I am doing something wrong, I am not familiar with this program. Videos made in Pika labs only 7 seconds. It takes me a very long time to process.

For good quality videos you can use the 1st version of topaz.
