The best part about the car is a Toyota which will get almost close to 500,000 miles great buy
ОтветитьHappy New Year dude!
Ответитьgreat video series, thanks for sharing the knowledge
ОтветитьWhat area are you in? I have a truck I don’t have time or energy to work on.
Ответитьnice series
ОтветитьProbably said already - but why fix a lifting/lowering antenna mast, when it can be replaced with something rubber and durable?
ОтветитьFor me I found this video hard to watch due to all his waffle and repeating himself constantly. On top of that most of the assembly is left out like the brake shoes and the arial replacement both due to him not having a going to plan moment. This is my first vid on this channel so just stating my annoyances.
ОтветитьI love getting the little tricks like the antennae and starter fixes. Who would have thought to look to see if it had 2 left calipers. Someday I will start flipping cars to occupy my time.
ОтветитьIt's a pig
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьNot sure why you bothered with a 2wd 4Runner... You couldn't get $2k for that in my area.
ОтветитьThere's a difference between flipping and a restoration. Your not responsible for the next 20,000 miles of service. Unless a person is willing to quadruple the price half those repairs aren't necessary
ОтветитьEnjoyed this video. Whenever you mentioned bondo I thought of Jack, he loves bondo. 😆
Ответитьtoo bad you didn't do the Tundra Brake upgrade, replacing with the same old calipers is a waste of time/money when for barely 30$ more, you can get much better calipers
Ответитьnon running, beat to hell that should have been a 500.00 truck, what the hell is wrong with the world?
ОтветитьA lesser man might've left that caliper and tried pressure bleeding - kudos for making it right. Personally a fan of rigs that aren't beautiful but run like a watch - my driving satisfaction is more important than other ppl's appreciation of the exterior.
ОтветитьSome great pointers and a great video Jared. Keep up the good work 👍✌️🇺🇲
ОтветитьRockauto never has counterfeit stuff. Right?
ОтветитьHad to do that antenna fix on my explorer then let uncle drive it and he ran it through car wash and broke it. Just lived with it after that haha
ОтветитьNice job! Looking forward to this series. A great upgrade for this truck is the "Tundra Brake Upgrade". You buy the calipers and rotors for a 2005 Tundra and it eliminates the rotor warping issue that happens in these (at least in mountain regions), it also greatly increases the stopping performance. I bought one with all the service history and rotors had been replaced 4 times and needed replaced again. When purchasing it as a kit, the total cost can be as low as $300.
ОтветитьJared, I like the way you approach the car and solve the items needing repairs. I would like to buy the car from you but I am in CA, retired disable senior. I have a 2000 Ford Excursion and would like to down size to A 4Runner.
ОтветитьI have a '96 4Runner. After the automatic antenna mast broke for the 3rd time, I replaced it with the whip antenna from the 2nd gen Tacoma. It looks stock (fits perfectly on the fender) and never needs to be replaced again.
ОтветитьAs a used car buyer, I appreciate you working on cars with this details / safety oriented way of doing things
ОтветитьWow, the guy that did that stuff was a real hack. I've found that it's usually easier and more cost effective to do it right. You might spend a couple more bucks on parts but it takes less time and when you're done it's done right. I wish I could find one of those for that price, everyone around here thinks they're worth $10k, even screwed up and with 300k miles. Plus I'm in the rust belt so they're trashed...
ОтветитьRe. shipping companies. Same here in the UK. I've had packages thrown over walls, stolen from my front door, etc etc. Basically the drivers are chronically underpaid and run into the ground with insane schedules for drops. Basically abuse of employees by these companies. The only way to fix this is if they charge more, but they won't as the market has decided it wants cheap stuff on the doorstep instead of in the local store/shop. It's a mess.
ОтветитьWhat would it cost to have Mr. Pink do a turbo Supra swap on a 3rd gen? Need new axles and rear disc brakes from a Tundra. Would be fun to see. I have one but I’d want to keep it after seeing that project.
ОтветитьThis guy is son of Glen jacobs Kane. Kane doesnt know about it lol
ОтветитьDamm im trying to sell my for 5k. Way nicer then that one.
ОтветитьMake friends with your UPS/FedEx driver(s). I get mine a gift card at xmas... my stuff is bagged and right where I want it to be. Take care of them, they take care of you.
ОтветитьMan I hope you get this,, maybe a old vidio,,,fodex, and ups, throws own mail, out the window, and its left up to everyone else to fiqure it out,,I tried to call to report them, but it was, like taking to the wall, like your shows, man, keep on keep on.
ОтветитьI just got a 2008 saturn outlook for $700 to flip. I'm worried it's not a recognizable brand anymore and I might have trouble selling it. Book value is around $4200.00. My reason for flipping cars is to pay for IVF treatments for me and my wife to have a baby. Wish us luck.
Ответить222k miles on this Gen3
ОтветитьThose antannaes are junk. There is an aftermarket fix to update it in the real world.
ОтветитьThat's what I'm doing now 1996 Toyota 4Runner 4 x 4 there's a rough country 4 inch lift I just put a new radiator in it I was leaning on the top of it and the radiator hose snapped right off probably the original radiator it was patched up and nobody wants the milkshake put a wheel cylinder in the back and new brake shoes straightened out the brush guard that was bent the blacksmith hammer and a jack absolutely no rust on this rig next I'm going to fix the rear window which clicks if it doesn't go down I think it'll be an easy fix the four-wheel drive only works if I turn the vacuum lines around I don't know what exactly that is yet I stuck $300 in used tires they look great windshield is cracked but I think I'm going to leave it I'm going to ask about 4,000 maybe more but it has $330,000 Mi on it but runs good
ОтветитьHow big this guy is? We can not see half of the car
ОтветитьI bought a 4runner that "only needed a transmission". Oh my god was that a mistake. I have a long list of things I fixed. It upped my mechanic skills at least. Not to mention they lied about the title status and forged a few signatures.
ОтветитьIt would be impossible for me to get $4k for a 2wd 4runner in that rough of condition. Love the information on addressing some of the common issues though for use on 4wd versions which can go for a lot these days in well sorted rust free condition.
ОтветитьThanks for not cutting our the frustrating parts.
Ответитьwhen you realized that 4 runners are pretty tall sun's, however next to Jared they be looking like Honda Civis....😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьWow, there's A LOT of mechanical knowledge stored up in this ole boy! Good stuff, brother! Enjoyed watching!
ОтветитьDo you have a video on the starter rebuild?? Would be very beneficial to know and could save a lot of cash.
ОтветитьWhatever happened to this series?
ОтветитьNot sure why you would want a BMW even if it is badged as a Toyota.
ОтветитьI’m a big fan of pin drivers and rewiring the actual plug and not just cutting the harness.
Ответить**********You standing next to the 4runner makes that 4runner look like a remote control car**********
Ответить******That's FedEx Ground instead of Fedex Express delivering your packages......but you know we are ONE FEDEX now.....******************
ОтветитьWow! All that for a 2wheel drive Fakerunner?
I can't imagine getting more than a grand for that around these parts.
Hope you did okay with it tho.😊
I don't mean this to be mean but holly fuck this dude is buff
Ответить
