ОтветитьWayne june can keep me captivated or he can help me sleep, win win!!
ОтветитьThis is the only HP Lovecraft story that isn't fiction
Ответить"PRECAMRBAIN SLATE!!!"
Ответить100:th comment in favor of being an appreciator of Wayne June and pleasing the algorithms
ОтветитьAlternative History: During the Cold War the USSR discovers ancient horrors at Novaya Zemlya, which nearly matches the lat/lon given for the mountains beyond the "Mountains of Madness" that even the elder things feared. The USSR decides to just glass the place and labels it as a "nuclear test site" after taking care of business.
ОтветитьThis is the single best example of a story being enhanced by storytelling that I have ever heard.
Ответить"As life ebbs, terrible vistas of emptiness reveal themselves."
ОтветитьThis is the best narration that exits. Full stop.
ОтветитьReading Lovecraft is an art form andJune is the Master.
ОтветитьI personally like to think that the shapeshifting alien from The Thing could be the nameless horror laying beyond the far western range. The ship may have crashed in the area at some point during or before the Elder Things arrival, and its presence was made known as bits of the biomass washed down the river from the mountains. Naturally they saw how it would absorb and imitate any living thing it touched, and vowed to keep the rest of it imprisoned behind the mountains lest it absorb and replace their entire race. The few that were aware of its existence kept it's nature a secret to avoid panic, just insisting that it was a nameless evil that must never escape. I'm not sure about the beam of light or strange lightnings, although those could be associated with the strong magnetism of its craft which it may have attempted to repair. Yeah I know theres numerous problems with the theory but hey, it's kinda interesting 🤷♂️
ОтветитьNo one can read these better than Wayne. I wont listen to anyone else narrate Lovecraft
ОтветитьIt's like I'm listening to Lance Henriksen reading H.P. Lovecraft. EPIC.
ОтветитьRuin has come to our expedition...
ОтветитьIts been ages since I read this, I need to listen this. There is just something about ancient civilizations hidden beneath the ice. This is one of my favorites, though to be frank, they all are very good stories. Shame that we never got at the mountains of madness movie.
ОтветитьListening to the whole thing made me appreciate Wayne June even more.
Ответитьfor something so unkowable, having the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE OLD ONES written down makes them really REALLY knowable and 100% "comprehensible"
like. they wore fucking christmas sweaters, had penguin pets, a worldwide empire, had civil wars, coinage, democratic socalisit govt... i mean fuck. they are jusut humans in another form.
OH MY GOD! WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE!?!?
Ответитьremind yourself that overconfidence is a slow, and insidious killer
ОтветитьDoes audio contain Beyond the Mountains of Madness?
ОтветитьI guess it makes sense he reads lovecraft audiobooks but for some reason I never thought about it
Ответить🥰
that is all
This is an awesome day off, listening to this! This narration is fantastic. 💯
ОтветитьWayne June is one of the best reader on the web. It would be nice if everything he read was available online. I hope he does the stories of the whole Lovecraft Circle, luckily there are writers who keep the Cthulhu mythos alive. (Book of Cthulhu vol. 1 and vol. 2 and to my surprise The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.) I hope that the spell of the Mythos is strong enough to absorb the discovery of the real history, and not the academic point of view. It is scientifically proven that the Sphinx is older than 4500 years.
And there are so many Out of Place Artifacts who prove the new paradigm. There MUST have been a highly advanced civilisation before the Younger Dryas. Sorry, I got a bit verbose in my reply, but I hope you like it. All the best from Holland.
The poppy and the pistol....a fitting end.. to my folly.
Ответитьhell yeah we eatin good tonight
ОтветитьWhat the hell. Ads every ten minutes ruined this...

ОтветитьThanks so much for posting the link. This is the only volume I didn't have, and I refused to pay $6000 on Amazon!
ОтветитьThank you so much for the upload. Recently got into Wayne June's voicework and never went back, and was looking for work he had done but couldn't find it physically. This works wonderfully to fill that gap!
Ответитьsuch a mood
ОтветитьNature Herself….
ОтветитьTrotz Kanalsperre dieser Müll 😡😡😡💩💩💩💩🤮🤮🤮🤮
Ответить"Remind Yourself That Overconfidence Is A Slow And Insidious Killer."
ОтветитьGasoline & dynamite . . I look frankly at the crackling fire
ОтветитьJune could read a cook book and I would sit there intensely!
Ответить"A man in a robe claiming communion with the Divine? Madness."
ОтветитьI love a good sleepy n soothing yet cosmically disturbing n beautifully retold bedtime story.
Adult bedtime Stories are gonna be the next big thing.
Mr Wayne is da man! The BEST narrator for Lovecraft, hands down! He even narrated my audio book!
