Why didn’t Savard said « our hero » ?
ОтветитьWhen you were a young boy and you opened a 5 cents wax pack of hockey cards with bubble gum and Rocket Richard card was inside you were a happy kid. just like getting a red wool Canadiens hockey sweater for christmas 🎅😊
ОтветитьMaurice Richard ia my favorite player At the time
ОтветитьMaurice Richard est un grand nom. Pas seulement pour le Canadien, pour le Québec aussi
ОтветитьThe Legends, Iconic, Phenomenal and the Great👏👏👏
ОтветитьI was a Habs hater growing up but I always loved hearing stories about the Rocket :D
ОтветитьNot trying to be negative but beliveau could've been speaking french and you could've put subtitles. Specially since language is a big deal in regards to this topic?
ОтветитьWhat they don’t mention is the linesman held the rocket back while the English player beat him up because he was French
ОтветитьYou know the Richard brothers were good when you realize they won 5 consecutive Stanley cups in 5 years until Maurice retired
ОтветитьI saw video of that game he was suspended and think he was just in striking the ref. There was basically a brawl and two refs were holding the Rocket and letting two Boston players punch him. He got loose beat the main guy silly and the ref. He got two handed several times in that game also. The refs were totally one sided in that game.
ОтветитьI am from Ontario and I have always loved Maurice like most Canadians. even today his name is respected..
ОтветитьHe could finish, and wasn't afraid to go into the, "Dirty areas"
ОтветитьCan't top Habs jersey ...only Chicago gets close
ОтветитьA lot of passionate comments here. I wonder how many of the commenters actually saw him play. I mean, he played his last game in the spring of 1960, over 60 years ago. I'm 65 years old, and I never saw him play. From everything I've heard, he is fairly comparable with Mickey Mantle. Lots of goals, big offensive force, not so much on the defensive side. Loads of charisma, and when he was on the ice, he drew a lot of attention. You watched him because he was the Rocket, same as Mickey. Now the off-ice behavior wasn't like Mantle, but he aroused the same emotions on the ice. Latter part of his career injured a lot, very limited playing time, maybe hung on a year or two when maybe he shouldn't have, again, just like Mantle.
ОтветитьYou should've added to your video after talking about the linesman getting punched that he was holding him so the other player could punch Richard. The league was terribly unfair for French Canadians at the time and any chance they had to get one of them down on one knee, they were taking it. This is still relevant to this day, this is the main reason as to why our Habs are the pride and joy of our city and our province. It makes us remember where we come from and how much we battled for us to still be there and speak our language.
ОтветитьOut of all the players I have received (or paid for) autographs from, Maurice Richard was the worst. Oh, his autograph is beautiful! His demeanor, however, was borderline contempt. Got Henri's at the same show. He was really nice. Every other hockey player was great to meet. Howe, Beliveau, Yzerman, Bossy, Worsley, Bower, Sittler, Oates, Lindsay, Abel, Mikita and so many others....just great. The Rocket.....just plain crusty. Probably because I was American. Oh well, still a great hockey player!
ОтветитьProbably the most overrated player of all time. He never had higher than 74 points in a season. If anything, he was on par with someone like Rick Tocchet but even he had a 100+ pt season.
ОтветитьHappy 100 birthday
ОтветитьI'm not french but he is still my hero
ОтветитьA lot of great players from NHL history in these videos
ОтветитьTo me,an American sports fan, only one other professional sports star of North America had an aura like the Rocket:Joe DiMaggio.
ОтветитьEt dire qu'on n'a même pas un musée en son honneur... Tous ses effets personnels ont été vendus à des collectionneurs étrangers
ОтветитьRichard was said to be a one-dimensional player, only good at scoring. In truth, he could also fore check, fight, and occasionally pass the puck - he was a preeminent power forward.
ОтветитьI heard Richard wanted to play for the Leafs.
ОтветитьWhen hockey 🏒sticks, we're hockey sticks ❤💙
ОтветитьThat’s my grandpa that’s his hero
ОтветитьLong live the legend in our hearts
ОтветитьDavid Stubbs is the biggest moron in hockey. He should not be allowed near an NHL rink.
ОтветитьI don't care what team you root for or where you're from. There are a few names associated with the sport of hockey that everybody knows, and The Rocket, is one of them. They don't name the award for most goals amassed in a season for just anybody.
ОтветитьTo carry not only his team but the whole province of Quebec on his shoulders, there is only one Maurice "Rocket'' Richard.
ОтветитьWished I could have seen him play
ОтветитьHe should be. He’s top 10 best Hockey player of all time! He did it all a fearless hockey player who could skate. Shoot and score
ОтветитьSEE this is how REAL CANADIANS PROTEST..not with BOUNCY HOUSES AND DONUTS...
ОтветитьMaurice Richard
ОтветитьMercurial Maurice Richard, stately Jean Beliveau, and spectacular Guy Lafleur. Forty years of Canadiens superstars. Few teams have been so blessed for so many years.
ОтветитьMontreal! Fire in the Eyets!
ОтветитьHis brother! The Pocket R ocket! :-)
ОтветитьThe Rocket played with an intensity that was otherworldly, he was truly one of a handful of players who could arguably be considered the greatest ever!
ОтветитьMerci Maurice
ОтветитьIf you guys wanna release these interviews uncut that would rule. I'd love lengthy interviews about the Rocket
ОтветитьOn est au Québec icitte Tabarnak!
Vive Maurice Richard!
Vive le Québec libre!
⚜️🏒🥶
We/We!
Wheel Take Over English!😊
A fighter!
ОтветитьI hate the habs since I'm a Leafs fan, but I have nothing but respect for the Habs legends that came before like Maurice Richard, Guy LaFleur, Patrick Roy, Jacque Plante and Jean Belliveau
ОтветитьHis nickname makes me think of Elton John's 1972 hit "Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)." In particular, when Elton sings "I'm gonna be high as a kite by then."
ОтветитьMaurice Richard is hockey
ОтветитьCampbell not to bright, going to game, with Richard there 🙄
ОтветитьFor you soccer guys, the Rocket was Beckham, Cruyf, Pele and Maradona rolled into one.
ОтветитьThe Rocket 1st to Score 50 Goals in a season also 1st to 500 Goals All Strived to beat his records but he was still 1st - Even named all 3 stars in one game in 1944 scored all 5 Goals in a 5-1 Win over Toronto - also Won 8 Stanley Cups 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 😎
ОтветитьOvechkin is a modern-day Maurice Richard! Gordie Howe was the better all around player, But Richard was the better goal scorer!
Ответить
