I drove around los angeles listening to local radio station at night, and this song came up. I remember the next day I tuned into same radio stations and it played again plus other English songs. Damn , it looks like American folks love our music too

They were listening to Turn on the bright lights by Interpol when they made this album

My dad went to Portland sometimes in the mid 2000s and heard this song playing. He liked Oregon so much that he thought about moving there at one point. He hasn’t been to Portland in over 20 years and told me that from what he has seen on the news it has changed. It isn’t the place he remembered when he was there. Kinda funny how this song stuck with him and would ring true all these years later.

One of the only song of theirs where the lyrics make sense.

That solo is so dramatic, and beautiful. This song is an undiscovered gem. A fun fact about the video: this music video was made in 2006, and at the time video recording was partially still done on celluloid strips. They recorded two strips for each part of the room, keeping the same camera in the exact same position, and then overlapping them to create single images. Not-really-cgi effects from 2006, accompanying scenes that spread so much about styles and fashions of that time. Watching this video is like looking right back to 2004/2006
