It occurs to me: The first battle of this movie takes place in 1916, but the Fokker triplane wasn't released until summer of 1917, and even then there was only one of them painted red, Von Richtoffen's. Taking a little artistic liberty, much?

The move was good but they did not fight the German Tri Planes as in September of 1917 the Americans was transfered to the US Army.

I remember watching a C5 Galaxy get loaded with vehicles and pallets of everything and wondering how that aircraft would get airborne. I wonder what these guys would have thought

This story might make movie about our experiences with flight. As kids our dads were fishing partners, so we got to see each other at best of times. My friend was yr older than me an always talked of flying. He joined military academy an got his pilots license. He went on to fly jets an jet test pilot. Then he was nominated for space shuttle. His new wife said no too space, he became commander of air nation guard. He flies jet too Miramar air station, participates an completes "Top Gun" course. Oh baby! Now I know a real jet pilot an Top Gun! He asked me what I was doing over weekend when we met at Harley shop . We're going sailing on Harry's sailboat Timothy Lake Oregon. Out on the water, sound of tight sails against wind an wave, we hear a jet blast. Then see 4 jets in tight group, flying right over tree tops. Jets even get closer too water, enough to make 4 rooster tails. Lead jet waves his wings an I see him salute me from his cockpit. 2 Jets separate an pass our sailboat on each side of our sail. 4 form back together. We could see them fly around Mt Hood heading back too Portland. Everyone on lake i screaming, shouting, jumping up and down, waving arms around. Not only do I know a Top Gun, he lead a 4 jet flight too see me, saluting me from his cockpit. 2nd. my motorcycle partner bought a plane. I see my dad in Co pilot seat circling above my house, waving to me. Very cool, but next day he had mechanic replace plane's brakes. Brakes grabbed, wouldn't let plane reach flight speed, crashed at end of runway. Injuing young boy an killing boys grandfather. 3rd. I went to Montana to help a student build a house with her husband and 2 sons. I told him it wasn't smart taking maintenance flights without any payment. Later, after I came home, I hear he stopped his son from getting on airliner for test flight. He an his airliner crashed in firey blast at end of runway. While his son watched! 4th. While taking my friend to guard unknown soldier, group of people make way for us too see Bob Hope at Portland Airport. He was genuinely moved when he found out about unknown soldier. We knew the arrowhead golf course he was there ro buy. He didn't. 5th. I end with with me. I always loved airplanes, so was excited about airplane flight with my dads best friend's neighbor. Everything was as wonderful as I hoped until prop hit the ground on landing, flipping pkane on its top. I find myself in a violent maneuver an ending up being upside down hanging by my seatbelt. My dad finally tearing door right off, cutting seatbelt freeing me! His neighbor the pilot next too me died! Bonus story: my brother was plane captain for F-4 fighter jet on Enterprise aircraft carrier during VN along with my uncle! My 2 other uncles survived Pearl Harbor and dad joined Navy volunteer for underwater demolition team UDT on Dec 8th, 41..

One of my favorites. The Fokker DR-1 is by far my favorite WWI plane. Great movie.

Pretty embarrassing that the British allowed black people to fly for them before my country did. Then again the British were surrounded and they needed all manpower they could get!!

While not that historically accurate, it’s still a pretty good WWI film. Not that many movies about American volunteers fighting for the French

Ever since I saw Snoopy fight the Red Baron in "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" as a very young child and watching the biplane crop dusters spray the cotton fields of my home state of Mississippi, I became obsessed with WW 1 air warriors. Couple that and my love of tales of Chilvary and knights in shining armor and the WW 1 air warrior was tailored made for my imagination. I remember when this little independent film came out. I was enraptured the entire time. It may be a small masterpiece, now forgotten by most, but it is a truly special piece of cinema for me. Truly WWI Top Gun.

On a side note, the director Tony Bill shot this film entirely with digital cameras. Since the film was shot in 2005 this could be the very first major release shot entirely on digital cameras. Also this film was privately financed. A couple of the private financiers were Dean Devlin of Independence Day and David Ellison son of Larry Ellison of Oracle and the model for Tony Stark in Iron Man and The Avengers.

Awesome movie. 2nd time❤❤❤
