Thanks Guido! These boats can reach speeds of about 320 km/h! I'm not sure about the cockpit, but the engines are helicopter turbine engines.

The cockpit is based on an F16 canopy.

We have a version of these boats. We have them drag racing though, with V8 big blocks those are pretty cool too.

I can not believe how close the boats are to the crowd there. That would be amazing. I got to be on a course boat this year at Seattle Seafair. Had a great time. Made a video at BrenTRM videos if you want to see it. I grew up watching these boats. I have got to get to Detroit sometime.

Man 2013 was a great year for the detroit hydrofest! It was the last one I went to. Hopefully going to be there this year!

Watched these races as a kid with my grandpa......best ever !!

Becoming a fan of these boat races. But this heavily edited video, with only the announcer heard in the back ground, made it impossible it keep up with when the race started, who was in the lead at any given time, who won or when the race was over. The race is 5 laps and only a few minutes long. There was no need for the edits. With a full video, we could keep up with who the leader was. Nice try, but the edits made this video suck.
