When my daughter was 5, she could write, read, and do basic math, which are the minimum requirements for entry into elementary school in my country

US is such a BS place. My country isn't the best by far, it's riddled with issues of all sorts. But parents not enrolling their kids in a regular school and/or not having kids vaccinated will result in jail time for the parents and the kids take to a shelter for adoption. In here, any of these tiktok moms would've lost custody of their kids a long time ago, and probably would be doing some jail time for endangering the welfare of a minor

People like that are the reason laws exist.

Hii! Ex unschooler here, I was pulled out of school in grade 2 and unschooled by my parents. They tried to teach me math by giving me an app that I could study whenever I want, whenever I was interested in something they would indulge in it and helped me, it was fun for awhile but then I realised “hey, if I can study this whenever I want?? Then why do I even study, I’d rather play Minecraft.” Since you cannot expect a young child to discipline themselves, I’m now educated on crafts and stuff, but what’s a verb? What’s an adjective?? And guess who gets blamed for not knowing how to do math!! Me. It’s all on me. Now they sent me back to school, I’m behind, im confused, and I’m an idiot. If you’re gonna “unschool” your kids, do it right. but I’m never EVER unschooling mine. PS: I also have no friends, and have barely socialised with anyone in 3 years

in germany we have schulfpflicht it means if your not taking your child to school your risking getting involved with the police and maybe even taken the kids in custody

Un-Schooling is just doing whats expected of you for a kid outside of school without them doing anything in school. Like its expected that you teach them how to cut food!

Ummmm😅 I have ADHD and autism level one it was really hard to learn things I was six and the other kids were counting to a hundred and I was still counting to twelve now and this might be weird I'm twelve no actually 12 and I'm top of my class my IQ is 83 if I was in this home I'm pretty sure I would still be learning my ABCs 😂😂😂❤❤❤ I feel bad for those kids
