On the question on how to control the Robotaxi if it is unable to for some reason:
There could be a service mode that allows a PlayStation or Xbox controller to be connected. Since this is steer by wire it would act just like playing a driving game. Just my thoughts anyway.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the model 2 won’t compete with the Aptera even though it is two doors. I don’t think they actually focused on efficiency, instead it’s a side effect of moving to two doors. I think realistically it might hit 5 m/kWh and I doubt it can get close to 6. So I think lucid and Aptera will remain the kings of efficiency. And even if they did as you guys said it’s doubtful they could produce this within the next few years.
From a product standpoint it makes no sense. It’s designed to be produced like a Waymo service. But they plan on selling them for people to have their own fleets? Seems like a case of wanting their cake and eating it too. Without a charge port it requires way too much infrastructure investment from a person or business. And I doubt superchargers will be retrofitted with wireless charging anytime soon. Not to mention for owners it means two sets one for the model 2 and nacs for the rest of their fleet if they want to cover the different travel options (since sometimes you request for a large group). Not to mention if they just expect people to buy fleets of these, I see this causing issues as markets get over saturated and it’s not profitable for anyone. Especially since there’s no way for people to play the market, how will their app select hours over others? Will larger fleets be able to undermine single users by low balling fares? Ultimately it makes no sense for someone to purchase since as a fleet it’s better to buy a 3, be able to take it on a trip, but also have more resale since there are other uses than just teslas cab network. I’d also like to understand where do these cars go when not in use? I’d my car gets a low battery does it have to be able to make it back home? Will Tesla offer their own hubs of charging? And if they don’t expect you to be parked everywhere (which they still will because charging) will they have the cars driving as they await a pickup, therefore adding more wear and tear to your vehicles?
It’s nice to have confirmation their network won’t just be made up of Tesla owned cabs. I’m still doubtful that hw3 will be included. And that’s assuming it comes because he said next year for California but still no word of even requesting the permissions which feels like it’s years out on its own.
Overall no substance. Would have been fun to experience. But I agree with the sentiment “this is why I’m selling my Tesla stock”. And going to put it into lucid.
Very Mad that Elon Announced a Price because now all these news networks are talking about is 30K this 30K that… Elon never learns
ОтветитьI think having charging ports AND inductive charging is the future. Eventually, inductive charging will be just for level 2 and DCFC will be port only
ОтветитьI want as many options for getting electrons ad possible. Give me the option for inductive charging, solar charging, and a port.
ОтветитьAs far as vehicle segments they have left to explore, there isn't much left. Motorcycle, non-autonomous van, and????
ОтветитьFSD Coming next year for 10 years. As a tesla owner i enjoy their products but i am starting to lose faith
ОтветитьI am only disappointed that I can't buy a CyberCab next year but good food takes time so we need to let Tesla cook.
ОтветитьWhat is Plan B with no steering wheel and no pedals? I doubt the GOV will allow it to sell without them. Maybe the stop ride button is Plan B
ОтветитьNice t-shirt Drew.
ОтветитьI also am beginning to think this event was staged… but still very very cool and interesting! I do think it’s the future
