ОтветитьI thought you looked really good in the high-neck vest
ОтветитьGen X living in Australia and the trend of hiding your feet doesn't really exist here. Wearing no shoes is more of a trend in areas 🤣. Berkinstocks have taken over the Haviana thongs (flip Flops). Love your videoes. Can still keep up even though we are in opposite seasons but absolutely love what you share and how you share it!
ОтветитьI’m 74. No bra tops or corsets!
ОтветитьI have never been into ripped jeans until this summer. I have an old, old pair of Jones NY white jeans that are so old that they are ripping in the washing machine. I figure they are now worth twice as much as just a pair of old jeans. I’m wearing them a bunch this summer and hope to totally wear them out by winter.
ОтветитьI moved from NW Washington south . One of the reasons was that I wanted to be able to wear sandals most of the year!
ОтветитьTrends are always geared towards younger people. It's always been that way. As we get older we just learn to tweak them a little more to make it work for us, and obviously some trends arent for adults at all! If the in thing is for teenagers to not show their feet or toes, good for them, but why would adults care? We're not trying to fit in with a bunch of kids 🙄
ОтветитьI'm proud to be GenX. Shocked i made it passed 50. Not trying to look like another generation. Totally cool being me. I pick trends that suit my style. Always updating for my age.
ОтветитьThat is so interesting. I'm team sandles 💯, I work in an office with 20 women & I'm the one people look to to see for fashion advice. I'm 43 so I have rules what to wear/what not to wear. In fact the ladies always ask/compliment, "Are you going out after?" "You always look well put together". I just wear what I feel really.
Majority of the women my age wear sandals, but we have one Gen Z who I've NEVER seen in sandals, always in sneakers. I thought that was odd.
I'm just now seeing this video, unfortunately. I would LOVE for someone to explain to me when and how it became alright for everyone to wear shorts so short, your rear-end is literally poking out of the bottom!?!?! Seems there is only one reason to wear these
ОтветитьThe title of the video should be what Anna doesn’t like on her in her 40’s. There are tons of women older that can pull off these looks. Fashion is art. It’s an expression of you. I hate fashion police. Maybe you should make a vid on what fat girls shouldn’t wear as well since you’re on a roll. There are tons of fashion police in these comments. Sad.
ОтветитьI’m 61. I’ve had an aversion to f**t my entire life. So much so that I won’t say the word if I can find an alternative. Why? I don’t really know. They just gross me out. So I can get behind Gen Z on this!
ОтветитьOversized clothes just make you look like you are trying to hide something. I don't even like pleats on pants. Form fitting (in the correct size), no matter what form you have, almost always looks better.
ОтветитьGood stuff. Totally relate
ОтветитьLol the sandals I am finally comfortable with my feet and even get pedicures I'm showing those tootsies off. Pictures will cost ya.
I had to come to terms I had a fantasy wardrobe and actually sorted it out this year. I feel so much better now and have stuff that fits and is office approved
We’re the same age. I hear you lol. A lot of these new trends are from when we were kids and teens. So I feel silly wearing them! I do enjoy the 90s jeans and I’m glad they’re back because I find them more flattering than skinny jeans.
ОтветитьThe corset look is trashy for any age.
ОтветитьStop showing your face so much and show clothes.
ОтветитьGen Z is also wearing Birkenstocks! Many wear them with socks, but not everyone!
ОтветитьI find it hard to transition my outfits in my 40s. I’m kinda glad I’m a tshirt and jeans person and I still have my 30s outfits and wear them as well. I feel that I should taper down my skimpy shorts and mini skirts, if not to retire them entirely but I’m getting there. Some need a bit of a wake up call because they really thought they still rock it… but sadly our body forms also changes and not all fits as it used to but in our eyes it still does… acceptance is key 😅
ОтветитьI though I would like your "advice", but it ended up being the opinion of someone who's very insecure of herself, and hold on to too many social paradigms. Things like "I'm too old for that", "this look is not mature", really doesn't resonate with me. I think it's your "I don't really like the way I look", it's more accurate for your video, but, then this video become more like "trends I would not wear over 40", instead, "trends to avoid over 40", like a general advice, which is the way you decided to title your video. 🤷🏻♀️ This is just a click bait to come to your channel and help you boost your broken self esteem... 😕
Ответить🤗🍎🍎🍎
ОтветитьI think a lot of these styles that you mention are for a totally different style essence combination than what you have. You mentioned about liking to wear sophisticated clothing and more structured outfits which totally fits classic essence, which you have a lot of. :) I have noticed that more ingenue styled clothing that has been trendy doesn't work on my face and body type, in addition to advancing into my late 30s. I have a lot of classic essence like you do, and more timeless styles work better on me. :)
ОтветитьI hated bigger too long and too baggy too. But I knew shorter cropped would be right back to follow .. and voila it's here..
I love the lounge sets you had at the end. Do you have a link?
ОтветитьSandals like yours are so comfortable and cute. I love mi e with glitter and stones as well. 😊😊😊
ОтветитьI like the short vest on you, too. You definitely know your own style and aren't falling for the trend!
ОтветитьWhat if your 39 and your birthday is tomorrow?
ОтветитьNo more bodycon! I started wearing sandals because I now live in a warm climate.
ОтветитьI tend to want to repair ripped clothes. And there's no way I'll buy ripped clothes. I'm not paying new clothes prices for things that already needs repair.
ОтветитьOMG, girl - SANDALS FOR LIFE!!! People will just have to deal with my toes.
ОтветитьI’m very conflicted about the return of Mary Jane’s and ballet flats in general. Solid Gen X and a shorty. I feel they can look very cheap and somewhat childish. Oh, and as a vertically challenged type a real struggle to style (though would love any ideas)
ОтветитьHere in Hungary it still will be hot for the next weeks and I´m enjoying my sandals.
ОтветитьNot showing toes? WTH is going on with that generation?🤔😂
ОтветитьNever heard of Gen Z
ОтветитьAt 65 I realized my granddaughter was borrowing my clothes and I began to think I was doing something wrong. I decided with the new “quiet luxury” trend I could just trade my tee shirts for neutral cashmere and linen tees. I work from home so I also bought some high end, neutral sweatpants with matching tops. I’m still wearing ripped jeans, but my family says as long as I’m working out and in a size 5 no one should care what I wear.
ОтветитьI definitely won’t be wearing lace, feels unsophisticated and I hate the texture on my skin
ОтветитьSUMMERTIME???? PEDICURE TIME!! MY TOES ARE OUT!!!!
ОтветитьThe vest issue is because you have reasts and they poke out too much. I'm the same. Look at their chest. You'll notice it 😉😊
ОтветитьI liked this video, what I find interesting is the long vest you mentioned. Some of the Gen Z girls are poaching fashion and looks traditionally styed for older women. That long vest is something I used to see older women wearing when I was in my late 20s (I'm 38 now). I think the 'quiet luxury' trend took them to far to the other side lol. Nothing wrong with it but as you are aging you don't want to age yourself up so I get why you passed on that look. It's kind of like tweed and hell even the classic Chanel flap bag...once upon a time that was reserved for women over 50 not a young girl of 25.
ОтветитьI think you can’t take advice lol as you get older I would think sandals should be a no no
ОтветитьYour video says; 9 Trends to avoid in 2024 over 40. Meaning, you are advising people on what YOU think shouldn't be won at this age and time. Funny how, at the end of your video, you kind of felt a little offended, defensive, and attacked, even went as far as emphasis on wearing your sandals, just because someone on Tiktok saw your video with sandals and voiced their opinion about you still wearing sandalsat this age and time🤔. You said, there is nothing wrong with you still wearing your sandals, you love them etc. It means you know how it feels when you make a video telling people what to wear or not to wear at what age and time. Your video would have said; What "I" like to ovoid in 2024 over 40. Don't make an all inclusive video and then feel attacked when someone comments on you still wearing sandals in 2024 over 40. If you have the right to "Still" wear your sandals, every body have the right to "Still" wear whatever, whenever, and in whichever age. According to the title on your video. Respectfully, everyone have a choice.
Ответить@ 50 I don't think I'm going to wear skinny jeans when they come back around.
Ответить53 here I feel like my age has surpassed the baggy shirt with only one side tucked in trend. However I French tuck slightly loose shirts frequently.
ОтветитьI identify with “I’m not going to dress for a life I don’t lead”👏🏼
ОтветитьI wear sandals in the snow. I wouldn't give up my sandals.
ОтветитьGirlfriend! I'm 42, too! Thank you for all the great tips and I love sandals and showing off my toes 😊
ОтветитьI love your pink blazer. ❤
ОтветитьLove my sandals.
